Working out in public and embarassing wind

I'm not sure what I'm looking for in this thread, probably just some support and just to know that theirs others like me or how they manage it.
I have really bad wind. Since I got my gallbladder removed 2 years ago I developed IBS like symptoms in response to fat in my diet. On the weeks where I'm worst I'm like a bag of wind. While a days bad eating can make it flare up for a week, equally it flares up on it's own.
But this isn't about the cause of my wind.
The fact is that it's making working out in public near impossible when it flares up. I'm trying to get back into exercise classes but all the jumping around doesn't help and it's not the noise that's the problem. Just the stink.
Gym workout are abit different because I can go at my own pace but I can often be seen stopping for no reason on the treadmill or elliptical to suppress a fart. At least two weeks out of a month I have to avoid the gym all together.
Has anyone got any stories (horror stories) of their struggles with something like this or suggestions with how they manage it.

Sorry to hear about your problem, it must be difficult.
The only thing I can recommend is that if you have IBS then to try and avoid the foods that are triggering this off. It's difficult to cut things out of your diet if you like them but if it means having an easier time of it then I would probably do that. Good luck.0 -
I use De-Gas capsules which contain simethicone. These have been a big help to stop the problem and now I don't even have to take them everyday.0
