I'm 5'3" and started at 156...down to 120 now!! initially wanted to just lose 20 but I just keep going! lol...now just want to maintain and firm up( Hubby thinks I am too low with weight, but I feel great!)....I started In Oct. 2011 attending a class at the YMCA called core and walking to Leslie Sansone at home and watching how much and what I ate...wasn't introduced to MFP until Jan 2012...now I just maintain my calorie goals by working out to a variety of things from intense walking on the treadmill at 15 incline at 4.0-4.1 mph. then lifting for half hour or so..i just started 30 DS the other day...Good Luck!! sorry I don't have pics...

I WAS, but then I gained 10 back. UGH!

But it took me a couple of months. I ate around 1200 cals, unless I exercised, then I ate a little more. I ate whatever I wanted as long as I stayed in my cal range. I was 160 and got down to 140.

I started at 165 in Oct 2011, down to 155. Its been difficult! Need to get down to at least 135. I try to stay at about 1200 calories per day and try to walk an hour each day. Really been off the last week or so. Hoping to get my motivation back!

I'm 5'4" and I was 163 when I started this lifestyle change on Dec 17. Heavy lifting 3 x a week and occasional cardio, combined with a small calorie deficit (I currently eat 1500 PLUS exercise cals) has me to where I'm tipping the scales at 135 this week.

Profile pic is me the other week at 137. I figure I have about 15 lbs left to go.

I am 5'3" and my heaviest weight was 160. I lost about 5 pounds and managed to keep it off for a year. Then I got serious, I started MFP at 155 pounds and am now working on about 135, tomorrow is my official weigh day so I won't know for sure until tomorrow. It has taken me since Jan 25, 2012 until now to get that far.

I was eating too low for a long while, then I upped it to about 1410, I try to eat over that by getting some sort of light exercise in everyday but I have been really training hard for a 5K to be run on Saturday April 21, 2012, and that has really been the key. Starting monday I am going to kick up the strength training and training heavy for 5 days a week. We will see what happens though.

We are going to Disney next month so I would really like to tone up in the next few weeks for that.

I am proud of your accomplishment on going from 163 to 135, I hope that you feel as good about that as I do about mine. And I hope that you are enjoying your new muscles too!

I went from 160 to about 136 but it has taken me over a year. The 1st 15lbs FLEW off once I started working out but once I hit 145, it REALLY slowed down. My goal is 130 and it feels as if I will never get there. I have an athletic build though and 35 next month. I also have gone up and down on may calorie intake, I slid a lot and I skip exercising. I am back to exercising every day so I am hopeful that I start to see the scale move again. Sorry. I do not have any pictures.

Generally my cals have been @ around 1400

I'm 5'7, I started at 157 lbs. I am now hovering between 133-136 lbs. It took me about 3 months. Now I'm working on maintaining, toning, getting stronger, & about to start running again to train for a 5K. I don't have any pictures yet.

    Edited to add:
Exercises I did: Elliptical, Running, TreadClimber, Strength Training, Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred.
    Cal Intake: 1200-1500 usually.

I started at 167 lbs in Jan 9 and today I weigh 146. I strive for 1-2 lbs a week. I've had two different weeks where I plateaued. I calculated my bmr (1224 calories) with mfp and stay close to it by counting my calories on mfp. I know its not exact, give or take 50-100 calories, but it works. I exercise 3-4 times a week, spinning, hiking, bicycling, and running.

I started implementing my own personal challenge for exercising by keeping track of the number of minutes I exercise and try to do at least 1,000 minutes of exercise in one month. I have other friends doing it too and it is so motivating. In Jan I actually tracked over 2000 minutes and March I was close to 2000 minutes. This month I am on track for another 1000 minutes. If you think about it, its always been promoted to exercise 30 minutes, 3 times a week. That is only to maintain your weight. If you did that say 5 times a week, that is 600 minutes a month. I challenged myself to do 1000 minutes to finally get this weight off and its working. Good luck! You can join me on my 1000 minute personal exercise challenge too. Be careful, its addicting

HI!. I started on MFP around mid january...I'm almost 38 and my starting weight was 159. I'm 150 now. It's been really slow going for me but I'm in it for the long hall. 135 is my goal too! I walk almost every day nearly 3 miles on my lunch break and do a 30min strength training video with 10lb weights two or three times per week. When the weather is nice and I can fit it in...I bike with my kids for about 30 - 40 mins. I try to do something everyday because I sit on my rear all day at work. I eat an average of about 1600 after I eat back my fitbit adjustment. I don't log my weight work or the occasional bike ride. I'm wondering if I need to start doing that and eating those calories back too. I'm lucky if I loose a half pound a week. Maybe it's just wishful thinking that I should be so lucky as to need to eat more...but I don't think so.
  • Yes! SW 166/ CW 140/ 1stGW 130/ GW 120 I log everything I eat and really try to stay within my calories (1200-eating back most or all of my exercise calories). I basically eat what I want in moderation (serving sizes-actually measuring as much food as I can) I have a more detailed explanation on my blog on here. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/sarahdee2007
It's not anything exciting. I just hate repeating myself lol but if you want to friend me, we can support one another!
Oh, recently started wogging (walk/jogging-lol) here is my profile. I can never load photos right, so that's the best I can do. the pic is from two weeks ago, so I was 142 there. Not much difference since then.

  • I started in mid-January at 159 (I'm 5'6"). I was in quite good physical shape, but I was carrying around a bit more extra cushioning that I would have liked.

I am now 148 - but am also much more toned and fit looking. My goal is 140. I have a very althetic build (broad shoulders and quite bulky muscles), so anything beyond 140 is pretty unrealistic.

I exercise moderately - 1 CRAZY boot camp training session with a personal trainer, 1 longer 8-10K run, 1 shorter 4-5k run, 1 yoga class and usually an extra boot camp style workout at home each week. I was netting about 1200 cal per day (eating back most exercise calories). The first 8 pounds came off in 6 weeks, but it has taken another 8 weeks to lose the next 3. I eat well - lots of fruits and veggies, protein, whole foods, very little processed food. I recently (2 weeks ago) put my net cals up to 1450. Some days I am still eating 1200 or so net calories, some days it is 1400...I don't stress too much about it. I'm working out and eating well. My shape is changing, the scale will come along eventually.

When you don't have a lot of weight to lose (and you're doing it a healthy way by eating well and exercising) it can seem to take a long time and get discouraging. Take pictures in tight fitting clothing. Unfortunately, in my before and after pictures I was wearing a somewhat baggy shirt so the difference isn't super obvious - it would have been had I been wearing a tank top. Take measurements so that you can see your progress.

If you recall, I went from 170 to 130 in just under 7 months. The last pound was the hardest! Now, I step on the scale every day, with clothes/shoes, and as long as it reads less than 135, I'm satisfied. So far, so good, but if I go over, I know I have the tools here to reverse the trend. My fat pic, in the Aggie T-shirt, is on my page, and my progress pics are there, too.

I ate back most of my exercise calories, and I was pretty good at sticking with 1200 net calories daily. My maintenance calories are 1570, and that seems like a lot, especially with exercise calories added in. I find myself looking for snacks.

    You'll get there, friend!
