Every time I eat raw veggies (or an unripe banana), I get terrible indigestion. Has anyone experienced this? And if so, do you know a remedy? I am already limited because im allergic to poultry and shellfish, so I need to eat my veggies! Thanks

My advice: cook the vegetables. Sure they may lose a few vitamins, but you're already not getting the vitamins since you can't digest the raw vegetables.
"Doctor, it hurts every time I go like this. What should I do?"

    "Stop going like this."
I used to get a terrible stomach ache if I ate raw onions. I stopped eating raw onions. Problem solved.

I've got the same problem. I ran across this thread while researching it. I haven't found any answers yet but it sucks. Even stuff like tomatoes and carrots which I've always eaten are starting to cause problems.

yes. some vegetables i cant eat raw and have to steam. brocolli and cauliflower are the main ones. since i'm cheap and lazy and dont want to buy a steamer, i put a bit of water in a pot, put the veggies in a colander that fits on top of the pot, cover a best i can with a lid and heat the water.

i figure that way i'm keeping more of the vitamin than if i just put them directly in the water

Hm, I haven't heard of that before. My first thought is you might actually be allergic to a pesticide or whatever they're treating the veggies with where they're grown? Or maybe it has to do with your grocery store?

I would try a different grocery store, if that doesn't work, try organic if you don't already. Personally, I would go to nutritionist and see if they would have a solution, but you can always just cook your veggies - but steam them, they'll lose less nutritents versus boiling or sauteeing.
