I'm debating purchasing one but I'm not sure if it's worth the $100 so owners of Fitbit pleaseeee give me your opinions of it

My main thing is how accurate is it?

How do you use it to track calories burned with MFP do you put your activity level to sedentary and just enter all the calories burned according to the Fitbit?

Is the sleep tracker handy? And comfortable to sleep with it on?

Any and all opinions would be greatly appreciated!

I love mine. I assume it's accurate as I have lost weight at the rate I'd be expected to using the numbers I get from it. I wasn't losing using MFP's numbers for exercise. I notice they are much higher than what my FitBit reports. So I'd say it's accurate, with one caveat. Mine doesn't measure flights of stairs correctly. It doesn't base calories burned on this number, so the only problem with it is I get FourSquare badges for stair-climbing I don't deserve; it doesn't affect calories burned accuracy. I set MFP for sedentary and FitBit automagically adjusts my calories based on my activity. You do have to enter a few activities manually that they know it's not accurate for, like swimming, which you can't wear it for since it's not waterproof, and bicycling, which it under-reports. You don't have to enter what the FitBit data any more, you can link it to automagically do it for you. When I first got my first one, you did have to enter the data from the FitBit manually to MFP. I love the automagic entry! The sleep tracker is handy if you don't have another sleep tracker. I have a brainwave monitor from the doctor because I have a sleep disorder, but I have worn my FitBit to track sleep with my brainwave monitor on. My monitor tracks more detailed information--what kind of brainwave activity I'm having at any time, and the FitBit just measures basically just asleep or awake, but on whether I'm asleep or awake it's dead-on accurate. You'll be surprised how you can wake for a few seconds or minutes and not remember it. As to comfort, it's worn (for sleep only) on a soft wristband and you won't even know it's there. During the day you wear it clipped to your pants or bra or pocket, or really anywhere on your torso.

In short, I love mine. So much that when I've put it through the washer and wrecked it :grumble: I have bought another. Twice. Don't do that. It's expensive.
  • that's what worries me is MFP is telling me more calories burned for my cardio and such
