Assuming you are not training fasted and assuming that you are getting in an adequate amount of total protein for the day, I don't believe there's any need for BCAA's.

    This.

I would add that the benefit of BCAA's for fasted training is more theoretical/CYA than anything concrete.

Edit: At least for me, fasted training is better suited for low volume stuff. You might want some preworkout carbs, at the very least.

^ And in this case it's even MORE controversial. I would suggest reading about this. Martin Berkhan over at Leangains would recommend supplementing BCAAs in this circumstance but there's plenty of bodybuilders who have tried it both ways and noticed no difference using BCAAs vs not. Most notably would probably be Manu, but this is anecdotal.

So, in short: From a sciency standpoint I have no idea, but from an intuitive level I would speculate that it's probably not going to make a large impact either way, again assuming total protein intake is adequate.

    This is my opinion.

I totally like BCAA and Kre-Alkalyn Pre work out for sessions over 2 hours (1 hour cardio) (and then lifting). I feel totally energized, like I didn't need to stop. Maybe try it out for yourself. Everybody is different.
