When you're faced with a craving or you're out somewhere and there's a feast goin on or you're at home and you can't get to sleep, so you get hungry and the food in fridge starts staring at you - how do you stop yourself from bingeing? What is your mental motivation that stops you from bingeing.

I believe that the binge part of me is actually my rebellious child as I can eat copious amounts of crap even when the sensible adult part of me is saying 'you don't need that, you'll regret that' etc. It's about putting the adult back in charge! I think that the best way to avoid temptation is to leave the room and shut the door (I've been known to lock my kitchen door before now as that simple action of having to turn the key gives me time to think and make the right choice). Painting nails is good as you can't scavenge for food when they're wet; alternatively ring a friend. You could get yourself a big drink to fill you up and to give you that all important thinking time. Also, don't eat around food- by that I mean don't eat masses of other stuff to avoid the thing that you really want, sometimes it's better to just have the one thing that you really want and enjoy every mouthful. Eat it slowly, not in front of the TV, and you could always do some exercise after to make you feel in control. Hope this helps!0

One of my favorites it 2 -4 Hershey Kisses and a small glass of skim/non-fat milk. Take them out of the bag and put the bag away (out of sight). Let them melt in your mouth, washing them down with sips of milk. Gave in a little, didn't rack up a lot of calories, almost always satisfies the urges. Another treat I am discovering thanks to tip I saw on the recipe board was mixing yogurt with sugar free pudding powder. Tasty and filling. If nothing else, drink water, take a walk or some other physical activity to get your mind off of the urge.

A tiny bit of chocolate. Then I tell my hubby to hide it on me. Enjoy the portion you allow yourself.0

sugar free hardcandy!!! I eat one and enjoy it for as long as possible! usually helps me get my mind off of the other things0

The knowledge that I will feel good about myself for saying no is enough to motivate me to not have a binge0

I plan what I eat a day in advance and if it's not on daily log, I don't eat it. Period. There's a pick of the bikini I want to wear with a note that say's "fatty". Makes me grab a water and get out of the kitchen...0

You could do what I do and post a picture of a girl in a bikini on your fridge a large one so when you walk to get something you wont do it bc you want that body! lol! Thats one good thing or I agree with the lady who said couple hersey kisses they are really low cal and will be just enough!0
