I've always wanted to lose weight and I've tried and tried, but always in small ways... I do think there is something that just pushes you off the side. That makes you REALLY want it...
For me it was 2 weeks ago when I went to a doctors visit.. They are doing my check-up. And when he looks at my weight,...
Doc, "Now about your weight..."
Me, "I know I'm overweight and I'm planning on working on it."
Doc, chuckly "You are technically obese, NOT overweight. Now to even get yourself back to normal, you'll have to loose at least 55lbs. That means a lot of work for you."

Mine was also a doctor's visit. I had noticed my hair falling out and I had no energy. This is the opposite of what I was a few years earlier (basically before I had my son). My blood test results came in and my cholesterol was high, my B12 and D3 were low, and I had the signs of heart disease on the horizon. And of course the asthetic stuff... I used to wear whatever I wanted whenever I wanted... and now I hate the thought of putting something even remotely form fitting on.
That was it for me cholesterol and heart disease at 25 years old is NOT an option. I knew I needed to make a lifestyle change. Not just diet and lose weight... but BE HEALTHY and make better decsions. I want to set an example for my son!0 -
I've wanted to lose weight for awhile. Depression was in total control of me. I lived in a crappy ghetto neighborhood surrounded by druggies.
We moved to a very nice condo in a small town. Great neighborhood. My mood improved JUST enough that last weekend, I don't even know why exactly, but something in me was done. Well, Im sure the ginormous mirrors in the bathrooms that I CANNOT AVOID that show from my head to my thighs (a view I was never subjected too before, usually stopped above waist).
Sunday I woke up DONE and started. Having serious OCD is kind of helping.0 -
Mine was when I realized my children were eating emotionally by my example. I realized, for their sake (and obviously mine) I needed to get my tookus in gear.0

The mirror, essentially.
I realized that the lovely lady in the wedding dress that I've been drawing over and over is not the person I see in the mirror.
I realized how badly I want my body to fit with my personality. Not only for looks sake, but for my mind too.
Basically being this chubby is just unacceptable for the Mary I know. And staying this way just isn't an option.0 -
I found out I was pre-diabetic around the same time my aunt lost a leg due to diabetes. I thought it would be easier to take care of it now while I had 2 legs beneath me.0

I have one of those mirrors too.. In both of my bathrooms.. On the bad mind days I can't escape them
But they are huge reasons to push myself more0 -
