I'm trying to incorporate more exercise in my health plan but have trouble developing a personal workout routine based on my goals of losing weight and toning (not building) muscle. Do you have any suggestions for a book or website that might be helpful? What resources do you use to develop your workout routine?

Hi Initsch, I put together my exercises out of a variety of sources and vary it over time according to my goals and level of interest/boredom. One site I found really useful for getting the basics is this: http://www.exrx.net/index.html

Also, I wouldn't worry too much about building muscle. To build a large amount takes a great deal of work. But not that there will automatically be a slight growth right from the beginning as worked muscles swell to take in fluids and increase circulation.

Check out Prevention or Shape magazine websites - they have lots of interesting exercises.
