Start of NROLFW and an end to obsessive weighing in!

I just started NROLFW and I am very excited and hopeful that this will help give me the extra push I need. I run 3 times a week but I knew I needed to start lifting. I am sore after the first day but i;m sure it is well worth it! I have also decided to only weigh myself 2 times a month because I read that people initially gain weight when they begin the program and when they do start to lose weight it is at a slower pace. On the plus side, they fit in their clothes better even though the scale number may not have dropped. So I am trying to limit anything that will discourage me, such as seeing a number on the scale. Hopefully by next month my pants will be a little looser!

Anyone do NROLFW? What is/was your progress like?!

  • I am getting ready to start this, as well! I wish I had answers to your questions, but honestly, I'm just full of more questions! Good Luck!!

Great program, I highly recommend it. I'm starting Stage 3 up on Monday. You may notice a little weight gain in the beginning, but you'll definitely see the difference as you get into it. Sometimes it's hard to wrap your head about, but concentrate on how your clothes feel. And how you feel. Make sure to take progress pictures.

Most importantly ... HAVE FUN! :D

    Feel free to add.

I've heard so many success stories about this program that I'm going to get the book and try to get it read before my summer classes start and hopefully start the program then. I'll guess I'll really be able to decide if it's something for me after I actually read the book. I like the idea of heavy lifting. So when people get on my nerves I pick them up and throw them around

I've never heard of NROLFW until stumbling on this thread a few minutes ago. I will definitely check it out since I'm trying to find a good strength training program.

I just started phase 2 and I absolutely love it. I did gain a bit at first (you need to eat more) and my weight loss has been slower, but I'm seeing great results. The inches are coming off and I'm definitely seeing muscle tone. I actually look forward to my weight lifting days and get even more motivated as my weight increase and I'm able to do more push-ups.

Good luck to you, hope you enjoy it as much as I have.
