I have been looking into at home videos for strength training/cardio....any suggestions on a good video to tone up/gain muscle in about 30 mins a day? I am hoping for something like insanity (never did it) but i want a few videos to switch up so it doesnt get boring (dont know how long insanity is per workout) Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks

I havent done any home video workouts before, but I just put "home video workout" into the search engine and came up with 50 pages ... that might help if you do that :)

For videos with strength and cardio, I really like Shape Bikini Body Transforming. It has 3 30 minute workouts, a circuit strength one, and interval cardio workout and skills and drills. The moves are athletic and effective. 30 Day Shred is also popular. You can find level 1 free on YouTube, and if you like it the DVD is cheap. I also like Fitness Blender's workouts: http://www.fitnessblender.com/v/exercise-group/Full-Length-Workout-Videos/2l/ for solid, free workouts. They have strength and cardio and are ranked by difficulty, so you can choose what you like. I'm especially fond of their HIIT workouts and the "Toned and Curvy Body Workout" (awful title but good strength workout with compound moves).

You might also go to Video Fitness, a site about exercise videos. There are tons of reviews, and people on the forums have done so many videos and have huge collections, so they could probably suggest something that fits your goals. Good luck!

Hulu has a bunch under Get Fit Stay Fit. I've done several and really liked them. There are a bunch on Netflix instant as well.

I've been doing the 30 Min Shred and it is a GREAT workout! I am actually getting up at 5am to do this on a daily basis through the week and always feel so much better when I'm done. I can highly recommend it. Haven't seen a change on the scale, but the pants are certainly getting loose!

Just to add since you mentioned Insanity... the videos range from about 38 minutes to over an hour, so it's a time commitment. You might want to look into the other Beach Body workouts on their website and see if there's anything shorter.

Omg those are killer if you stick to them you will get great results
  • Agree with the people that said 30 day shred. I've never sweated so much after a half hour workout before! You can find the workouts online. Here's level one:

If you want the next two levels just hit me up with a message! Good luck

I've just started 30 min to Fitness b Kelly Coffey-Meyer (split sessions). The entire video is about 55 min but premixes are available so you can choose what area you want to work. Found it on collagevideo.com......you can also preview workout DVDs before you buy.

I'm doing Supreme 90 day workout. The workouts range from 29 to 57 mins, with the average workout being around 34 mins. It's a muscle confusion program patterned after P90. I'm on Day 38 and I love it.
