Running/walking

I know at this sounds like a dumb question, but,..
When you run/walk/run/walk, do you just add your running times together, then your walking times together to log them? I guess I feel like it doesn't count if you have to stop running and walk. Is that crazy? I was planning to try to run 40 minutes this morning, but it was really hot this morning when I ran (90 degrees). I ran 23min, walked 3 min, ran 4 min, walked 3 min, ran 3 min, walked 3 min, ran 2 min, walked 4 min for a total of 32 min running, and 13 min walking. Should i log the two totals?

I log 2 totals..one walking, one jogging..even if it's only 2 minutes of jogging! I feel like I should get credit for that!0

When I don't use my heart rate monitor, I just do one entry, under whatever the average speed works out to.0
