Salt-Free Taco Seasoning Recipe

Options
Not sure if any of you know of this recipe, but instead of the typical Taco Seasoning package a lot of recipes call for, I use this. Tastes identical, but NO SODIUM.

Mix equal parts:

Ground Cumin
Chili Powder
Garlic Powder

Mix together and use in recipes. I probably use about 1/4 cup or so when making 1.5 lbs of beef/turkey/chicken. I just guestimate. You need a bit more to have more flavour because of the no salt in it.

I make a large batch at a time so it is reasy to use.

Just thought I would share. :)

I also make homemade taco seasoning with similar ingredients but I noticed last time I made taco meat, that the chili powder I was using has salt as an ingredient. What kind do you use that doesn't have salt? I have been trying to find a low/no salt version of chili powder but maybe they don't have such a thing here in Oklahoma.

I make this all the time as well.

I always add onion powder, pinch of red pepper flakes, oregano, black pepper and paprika. I'll usually add a dash of sea salt, just for good measure.
