I started C25K in July. My doctor told me in August that I wouldn't see results until I started actually running 5ks consistently. He was right. I ran my first one in September and have run about 7 total now. I started seeing the weight come off when I started running them consistently. I started slacking up after Christmas and the weight stopped coming off so I'm trying to kick it back into gear and make myself run at least one real race a month and train more consistently.0

Nope! Agree with the above poster's doctor. There really isn't enough running in the beginning/mid part of the program to burn enough calories to lose weight. But now that I am able to run (thanks to C25K) and am training for a half marathon, I am burning 700 - 1,4000 calories on my long runs!0
