This is sooo not related to any fitness or diet subjects, i just needed to say this and i trust this site more than fb! lol

Well today I finally realized that my mother has always been right. When i was younger i had some questionable friends, that she did not approve of i remember it used to make me sooo incredibly mad!!! and her words were always, "one day you will understand and you will thank me" and i would think "ummm doubtful" then today, as my fiancee and I waited in line to watch a movie i overheard a couple arguing (loudly) about his Baby momma i did not catch the details just the babymomma word, and i thought to myself "WOW if my mom and dad hadnt been the way they were and thought me all they did id where i would be right now" most of my questionable friends got pregnant during our freshman year of high school (I had to make new ones =( )

There may not have been a bachelors, hell probably not even a high school diploma, i may have been stuck in drugs and alcohol, have a couple of kids with a couple of dudes, but bc of them and their great way of teaching me things i have a career, i'm now working on my second degree, and i have a wonderful fiancee! I am my mother's and my father's daughter and bc of them i am the person i am today and i could not be more thankful for the most wonderful parents ever!

ok that is all i just needed to tell the world =)

What a great post! I have often thought the same about my mom too. Now, I have grown children, aged 22 and 25, and they are making good choices because I have passed on the good things my mom taught me, even though I didn''t want to listen when I was a teen. But she was right. Good for you for finding this out.
  • Thank you! now i can only hope to be as good of a mom to any kids i may have as she was and still is to me =)

you should take her out for a lunch and let her know how much you appreciate her.

I would love to! but my dad and i had a huge fall out about a year ago and i'm not sure he wants to talk to me yet =/ she's stuck in between and if he finds out she went out with me it might cause a divorce between them (he's old school)
