Number of days to exercise when MFP figures calories

Do any of you just leave the number of days to 0 (exercise), when changing your goals? I was just wondering before I change anything because I was afraid I would mess up something. LOL. Does it affect the number of calories you can have? Hope this makes sense.

Hi there - actually it does not matter what you put in for your exercise goals, whether you put it at 0 or 1000 minutes per week, MfP does not factor in exercise when it gives you your calorie goal. It only bases it off of your height/weight/age/gender and activity level. So if you put in 'lightly active' it will give you a bit more calories than if you put in 'sedentary' however the exercise goals do not get factored in, it just gives you a visual when you are logging your exercises to help you keep up with if you are meeting your own personal goals for exercise.
Once you actually DO the exercise and log it, then MfP adds calories to your goal for the day. Basically MfP is programmed to believe that you are not going to actually exercise until you log it to prove you actually did it that day. MFP is skeptical of your exercise goals. LOL. It gives you a calorie goal that will help you lose weight without adding in extra exercise, then when you log your exercise it gives you a little pat on the back and credits you some extra calories so you can earn a snack. ;-)0 -
Thank you so much! I really appreciate the information. Hope you have a great day!0
