Kettlebell workout?

I'm going to start the Bob Harper Kettlebell workout today. Has anyone tried it? What did you think?

    Kettlebells are awesome!

I would focus on perfecting the two arm swing first then add in more exercises but usually for most exercisers the swing is the best exercise.

Sounds like a good idea. I'm older, and really need to work on the arms - some days my shoulder joints feel like they're turning to stone! I thought this might help. I'm open to any advice!

I will! I've been trying to find workouts (other than just the elliptical) that I can do that don't involve a bunch of jumping around. (Old gal, bad knee!)

I'm a huge fan of kettlebells - it did a great job of keeping excess skin at bay, and was a fantastic all-over body workout. Let us know how you get on!

I don't have his workout, but I do use kettlebells (not as often as I should). They take a little getting used to; it seems a little awkward at first. Sometimes, I just hold the 5 or 10lb. one while I'm doing a basic step aerobic session.

Yes - I had a lot to lose, and knew I'd have to do some weights to keep the saggy skin at bay. I just have some leftovers on my stomach, and next to no excess on my arms - I credit kettlebells with this!

I have the app Cardio Tracker & it gave me an estimate for KettleBell workout. But now I have an HRM. The cardio tracker cal estimate was a lot higher than my HRM. I log it under my exercises.

I did the 30 minute Bob Harper kettlebell body shred. I'm still catching my breathe and I can feel my muscles shaking. Really good workout, hard, but doable. I really liked it!

I only do about 15 min sections of the workout fallowing INSANITY but my average for 15min is 226cal burn

so I do 40 min Insanity -average burn 430`s
then right into kettlebell workout for 15min average burn 220`s
and finish with 5 min cool down on my treadmill at a 2.5 I don`t cound my cool down burn

I have both of Bob Harper's kettle bell DVDs and they are great workout! You just need to make sure your form is correct while doing these exercises because if not, you could get injured!

I felt like I got a good workout. It was confirmed this morning when my legs felt like spaghetti and my hips and midsection were sore. But I also woke up totally energized and in a great mood!

Have you thought of swimming at all? It's a great calorie burner but it's so much gentler on your body. I swim most of the time but do take a few classes and swimming is the one that feels the best. My better half does the kettlebells though, and he sweres by it. While he's been an avid excersizer for years, he just took up the kettlebells and talks about how different of a workout it is and how it's effecting muscles he didn't realize weren't getting the workout they deserved. In either event, best of luck to you!!
