I'll start by saying that I'm of the belief that whatever music gets you moving (no matter how musically "lame" it might be) is great workout music, here are a few of my favorite cardio songs (I don't run, but all of these are on my husband's running playlist):

Wynona's Big Brown Beaver - Primus
Boom, Boom, Boom, Boom! (I want you in my room.) - Vengaboys
    Shake That - Eminem

Vengaboys? Really? Hahaha, I'm judging you right now! :-P

Try Clawfinger "Biggest and the Best"

Can never beat Pantera "F**king Hostile"

American Head Charger "Just so you know" - it's a good 5 minutes and has a slower section in the middle to calm you down a bit, then a final couple of minutes for that last sprint effort.

Most of these songs also make me want to fight... which I suppose I am doing when I run, just against myself. Which means I always win!
  • Dropkick Murphy and Rancid - I can run to anything by them.
    Bodies - Drowning Pool
Planetary (Go)! - My Chemical Romance
    Cumbersome - Seven Mary Three
    Rebel Yell - Billy Idol

I could go on forever. I love music.

My most favorite song to run to is Mr. Brightside by the Killers. I love it when it comes on at the end of my workout and I want to stop......it always keeps me going.
Honorable mentions: Memory (Sugarcult). Violet (Hole), American Girl (Tom Petty) and The Dog Days are Over (Florence + the Machine)

Dog Days! on my list too!!
Celebrity Skin - Hole, Do-Wah-doo - Kate Nash, Back in Black - ACDC, Get F***ed Stud - Biffy Clyro, Pump it Harder - BEP's, Song 2 - Blur, Suzie - Boy kill Boy, Munich - Editors, Had Enough - The Enemy, Golden Skans - Klaxxons, Insomnia - Faithless, Best of You - The Foo's, Jump - Girls Aloud :blushing: plus scraps from Muse, Placebo, The Jam, The Prodigy, Linkin Park

Outkast - B.O.B. (bombs over baghdad)
Bad Meets Evil (Eminem and Royce 5'9") - Fastlane
    Cee-Lo - Closet Freak
DJ Khaled feat. Drake, Rick Ross, Lil Wayne - I'm On One
    Beastie Boys - Sabotage
Motion City Soundtrack - My Favorite Accident
    Ghostface Killah - The Champ
    Ghostface Killah - Run
    DMX - Stop Being Greedy

These should all pump you up, but you have to enjoy Hip Hop for most of them

I just started using Podrunner website. You can download playlist for whatever beat per minute you run/walk to. They even have some interval stuff if you are doing the c25k. And it is FREE

I found that the steady constant bpm keep me at a more constant pace and motivated to keep going.

Not a huge Matchbox 20 or Rob Thomas fan but "This is how a heart breaks" and "Let's see how far we've come" are both awesome. Also "Pump it" by Black Eyed Peas..."Blackout" by Breathe Carolina....girlfriend by Avril Lavigne....erm Closer to the edge by 20 to Mars I think they are called?
  • No Heaven by Champion

No One Lives Forever by Oingo Boingo

Ahead of the Wave by The Non Commissioned Officers

Take Off Your Shirt by Bibio

Those are the songs I use when I'm reaching the highest intensity in my workout :]

I am the Doctor - from the Doctor Who Season 5 soundtrack.

This is such a nerdy answer but it's the truth, haha! No matter how tired I am, how much I ache, or how much I want to quit, when this song comes on I just HAVE to run--and give it my all, too! I use a lot of visualization/imagination exercises when I listen to it, and it always manages to exhilarate, motivate, and excite me. Seriously--when it comes on, I bust out into a huge grin, and I don't stop!

I usually run at about 7 mph on the treadmill, but I usually end up cranking it to 7.5-7.7 mph with this song just because it makes me WANT to run!

    "I've Been Everywhere" Johnny Cash

And LMFAO always gets me moving faster. I feel more like I'm dancing than running.
