I have had my Polar F6 since April, a few times it has acted a little crazy. It will be working fine and my heart rate will be at 160 or close to, then all of a sudden it is at about 87, then at a point it will go to 00 (I know that can't be right, I'm not dead
)
This happened again yesterday, so I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem. Could it be the battery? I didn't think the battery would go out already, I've only had it about 4 months.
Thanks for any feedback.

I have a Polar F6 and I have never had this problem with mine.0

Mine did that a few times and needed to be cleaned. Use water only on a damp rag and wipe off the chest strap. You might need to tighten it a bit also as the strap part stretches out.0

clean and adjust your chest strap. sometimes mine (f11) does that, because it got under my bra,
if that does not help try the battery and then take it back as a last resort.
these watches are too expensive to have problems.
good luck0 -
It has happened to me but I realized it was not sitting in the right place or it had moved.0

yep, salt can interfere with the contacts on the chest strap. Make sure you wipe it down after you use it. And wet it before you use it as well. Remember, chest straps don't "feel" for your heart beat, they actually measure the small electrical impulse your heart uses. Sometimes it's because of inconsistant contact, which means you have to tighten it, but usually that's because of not wiping down the chest strap. If this continues to happen after you wipe it down and adjust the strap, then I would call polar, it could be a faulty strap. But I doubt it, it's a very "low tech" device as electronics goes, it basically just listens for the impulse, then forwards that impulse to the watch, which does all the calculations.0

~~ cough ~~ I lick mine before I start :huh:0 -

Exactly what everyone one else said. I have a Polar F4, and have gotten 00 at start and while jogging.
Makre sure it's wet/clean.
I've had to retighten mine 3 times now, so it would keep contact against my chest.0 -
Tighten the strap! That's what I've had to do about every couple weeks - it loosens a bit and I lose a bit.0
