Crazy NSV!!!

So I went to a birthday party for my son's friend. They have been friends since preschool and she was turning 6. Well alot of the parents from the preschool have remained friends with the birthday girl. So I havent seen them in 2 years. I started loosing weight 1 year and a half years ago.

Anyway, I walked up to one mom and gave her a hug and said "How have you been" Then she said, "I'm sorry I dont recognize you." I'm like, "Our sons went to preschool together." She was like "oh you must be thinking of my sister" (Her sister also had a son in the preschool and was super active in class, it was parent participation but this parent really never went.

I said, "I went to your baby shower!" She was like, "Melissa!" Wow! On and on about how much I've lost etc.....

I couldnt believe it, I thought she was just being a snob. I didnt think I looked that different. When I asked my husband he was like "Yea babe you look completly different. Wow. I guess when you see yourself everyday you dont notice. I want to post a before and after photo of me but I still have to have hubby take one. I think you might be able to see some on my page though....Just thought I would share....CRAZY

    That is amazing!You must have had a major transformation for someone you once knew well enough to go to their baby shower to not even recognize you!

    That's really great! It can be tough to see the difference in ourselves, it's nice to hear that other people are sure noticing!

    ok - i know this may sound stupid to some of you but........ what is NSV??? I keep seeing it but no one ever mentions what it means and I'm just not up with the "codes" i guess...... thanks for letting me know! Please!

    That is an excellent NSV - I had something similar happen a couple weeks ago at work. Lady came for a meeting and says, "I'm Barb, I'm sorry, we haven't met, you are..." I just laughed, and said, Jennifer - she was totally shocked. I realized I haven't seen them in over a year. There were 3 ladies (all of whome know me) and none of them recognized me. It's the little things like this that remind us all of how far we have come.

    Keep up the great work, you know it is working for you!
