I have been trying to do some research on what exercises and how many of each I should do as a beginner in strength training. I have found 2 exercises for each muscle group and I should do between 2-3 sets per exercise; however, I am unaware of how often I should be doing the strength training, how long each session should take, and if 2 exercises per group is enough. Also, how long would I do the same set of exercises? Thank you!!

There are 3 programs I would recommend you research that are all good for beginners. New Rules of Lifting For Women, Stronglifts 5X5 and Starting Strength. All are good. I use Stronglifts 5x5. It has a great iPhone app for tracking your weight and workouts. I'm not as familiar with the others but they are highly and often recommeded here.0

Well, I am not knowledgeable enough to tell you specifics. However, strength training isn't really broken up into time but rather sets and reps. If you generally want 5-8 reps and 3-4 sets. If you can do more than that you are doing endurance training rather than strength training. That is pretty much the extent of what I know on the subject.0
