I'm new here and so sorry if there is already a post on this subject. I searched and didn't find anything...

How are clothing sizes calculated? Let's say from a jean's size 17 down to an 11.
How many jean sizes down is that?
I'm just not sure if it would be from a 17-15 then 15-13 then 13-11...would that be 3 sizes? Or would it go, like 17-11=6 sizes?
Thanks in advance for your help :)

All jeans vary, but here it was always 11/12 13/14 15/16 17/18 ect.

I'm no expert, but I would suspect that since the sizes you are going by are odd numbers that it would be 17 15 13 11 and I would call that losing three sizes.

Thanks! I just wasn't sure because it seems to be misses are even numbers and juniors are odd numbers so I was confused.

Women sizes are generally even numbers...... 12, 10, 8, 6 and so on. Juniors are odd...... 13, 11, 9, 7 etc.

I can't fit juniors sizes for the most part at this point. I went from a women's size 10 to women's size 8 recently, so that's one size lost. Hope this helps.
