I just have felt like crap the past couple of days and haven't felt like cooking or anything I just wanted something bad to eat so I went to Burger King last night and now I feel guilty  . But like I said I'm starting over now no more pitty party for me. I have to do this so I can start a family! So how has everyone else been?

Burger king? Of all the burger joints to fall off the wagon into. Ugh!

We all have bad days. I try to eat foods that fill me up, so I've given up on a lot of stuff I like and still some days I can't feel full. When it lasts for a few days, I eventually break down, figuring my body is trying to tell me something. I'll go off and eat some [insert McD's, Subway, etc here].

One day off the wagon won't hurt anyone, so don't be too hard on yourself. As someone posted elsewhere, it's not eating a big piece of cake that will gain you weight, it's what you do every day. So, try to think of it as just giving full nourishment the priority for the day (even if it was only BK  ).

Clearly, you remain focused on your goals, so just let it go. Remember the past, but don't live it, as they say. You will be successful!

And that goes for both of you.

That is a good way to look at it. Don't worry about Buger King Think about what other great options you can find and try

I fall off every once in awhile also. With Birthdays at our house we have had cake and enchilada's here. Not such a great thing to eat when you want to lose either. But oh so good my all time favorite.

Keep going you can do it.

Falling off the wagon sucks, but it happens. You just need to pick yourself up, dust off, and move on. It happened, the world isn't over, if anything, use it as motivation!

What I like to do is if I am really craving some fast food, I try to find a wendys. If I am really good, I will get the southwest taco salad, if I am having a really bad craving, I pick up the spicey grilled chicken and a baked potato.
Yes, it's fried chicken, no it's not particularly good for me, but it's not horrible, and if I don't put sour cream on the baked (or use my own, low fat sour cream instead) it isn't that bad. And my craving pretty much goes away. The bad one is the Big Mac really, I could eat 3 of those and still want another one, I don't even glance at McDonnalds any more because I'll start thinking about those evil evil evil nasty, no redeeming quality having, burgers!

Don't get down on yourselves for messing up! Everyone has their days. Some more than others. I think that if anyone says that all they eat all day is salad with fat free dressing is stretching the truth just a hair. Most people that need to diet (and I am speaking for myself and my friends here) have issues with food. If we are constantly eating foods that are bad for us 100% of the time and then start to make healthier choices 90% of the time, we should allow us a 10% "Grace Period". For me, if I deny myself everything, I will just set myself up for failure because I will get to the point where I just can't take it anymore.
    Does that make sense?

the quote of the week, at my TOPS meeting last night was:

"If you don't fail at something once in a while, you can't be doing anything substancial in your life. Failure only comes when what you are trying to succeed at is worthwhile. Albert Einstein

Now don't get me wrong...i hate that word, "failure". I would prefer the word "fall."
I completely agree that falling off the wagon is ok, once in a while. We are only human, and trying to live healthy in, lets face it, an unhealthy world. I think we all deserve medals of honor just for trying.
You are curageous and brave to admit to yourself that, yah, you slipped. But what makes you amazing is that you got back up, and charged ahead once again.

Remember...and i like this one...The light bulb was invented 101 times. On the 101th time it was finally done right.
  • Well I finally put in what I ate yesterday (BK) and to my suprize I didn't go over my calorie count for the day! However that was the only thing I ate due to being sick and in the bed asleep all day. I know it wasn't good for me to just eat that but like I said I was sick! Anyways thanks for the encourging words guys you are the best! I'm doing great so far today!

    there you go...
often, as i have found, things are not as horrible as i think they are. Sorry to hear you were sick, and i hope the day's rest did you good.
So now you get up, dust yourself off and begin again, fresh and renewed. Keep on, keeping on
