C25K - Should I skip Ahead?

I have to say after nearly 5 or 7 years of no attempt at running save for softball and basketball I was quite surprised at how easy that was. I know shouldn't take for granted the purpose of the whole program but I am wondering if I should accelerate it a bit? Maybe I am not as slow and old as I thought? I followed the podcast exactly and logged it on endmondo and I felt fine afterwards. To tell you truth I didnt even sweat that much. It turns out I was at about 12:30 mile and covered a little over 2.5 miles after all was said and done. That's a pretty fast pace for just starting out I think. I know still slow but possibly faster than a beginner getting off the couch right? This is why I am wondering if I should skip ahead a bit. Maybe try doing week 2 on Wednesday instead? Any thoughts on this? Has anyone out there had this problem? I am not even sore the next day so I am thinking I should try week two. I don't have a problem sticking with it but I feel maybe it was not as challenging. Anybody who is experienced with this program or in running if you could weigh in on this I would greatly appreciate it.

Don't skip ahead. You could injure yourself. Your muscles need the gradual build up.0

If you have been active in softball and basketball then you're not starting from sedentary. My personal program for restarting running after a long break is to run as far as I can and then start taking walk breaks until I cover three miles. Repeat 3 or 4 times a week. Reduce the walk breaks more each time until I can run three miles without stopping. Usually I can get back to a 3 mile continuous run within two or three weeks. (not a fast pace) Other than a lot of soreness at first, and discomfort during the runs, this method has worked for me without injury.
So, if you are finding the first weeks easy then skip ahead until its not easy anymore. If you feel an injury coming on then back off.0 -
agree with scott above skip ahead, you need to have a little challegne then if one day you are feeling tired then just go back x you need to at least sweat0
