I just started 30 day shred yesterday and it says to do it for 30 days straight. I was always told to rest your muscles between workouts. What to do

Here's the schedule Jillian recommends...according to her podcast:
2 days 30DS
1 day cardio
2 days 30DS
1 day cardio
1 day rest
Repeat.
I did this with level one and really liked it. I really think I would get bored if I had to do that workout 30 days in a row...0 -

I have JM's Ripped in 30, and while it is also supposed to be a month long program, she emphasizes that you should workout only 5-6 days a week. I'd assume the same is the case with 30DS. I have also seen others post workout routines that incorporate cardio and rest days into that schedule.0

Where does it say to do it 30 days straight? I always wondered about this too but have heard the same as 35tolos.
2 days 30DS
1 day cardio
2 days 30DS
1 day cardio
1 day rest
Repeat.
Jillian said the marketing people called it the 30day shred but she never intended it to be done for 30 days straight.0 -
when I did it awhile back --
level 1 5 days in a row
weekend off (did some light cardio and weight work)
level 1 5 more days in a row
weekend off (light cardio and weight training)
level 2 5 days in a row
weekend off ( """)
Level 2 another 5 days in a row
weekend off ("""")
Level 3 5days in a row
weekend off ('''')
Level 3 another 5days in a row finished0 -
Thanks for all the info. I was thinking 30 days straight is a bit extrem. I like the 2 days then cardio and repeat. Thanks0

Wow...never realized this. I am on day 12 (day 2 of level 2)...I am scared if I take a day off I won't want to go back!0

Everyone does it differently I think. I did mine M-S, Sunday off and repeated till I was done with all 3 levels.0

I've been typically doing 2 days then one rest (or cardio). Sometimes life got in the way and I went 2 days but never 3 cause I knew I wouldn't go back. I just started Lv 3.0

I just finished level 1 - doing the 10 days straight. I will take definitely rest days as my body feels necessary but I did not see a need to rest in level 1. Once I finish the program I think it would be a great program to continue to use... as JM recommends in her podcast to mix it up with cardio days! Hoping that will also help maintain the muscle we build!0

Yeah - I agree. I think once I'm through with this level it'll be a good additional tool to throw in occasionally. I doubt I'd do it all the way through again because I do get bored but it's a great 27 min workout. If I can ever handle Lv 3 it'll be the one I use.0
