I want to start making chicken salad wraps for my lunch at work. I like the sweet chicken salad though, with the fruit. Problem is grapes are too expensive and i can't afford that right now. Also, i need to know what kind of wrap to use bc the one i tried just fell to pieces. Anyone have a cheap recipe that has a sweet flavor not including grapes? I tried one this weekend, without a recipe...i didn't do a good job. Lol

Thanks!

I found a chicken salad recipe using greek yogurt on Pinterest the other day! I just bought the ingredients to try it, I'll let you know how it is :)
  • I use FLOUR tortillas. The others just fall apart. You can find them in Wheat, which is better for you. You can find them in the store brand, like Kroger, sometimes they have them on sale for $,1 if you find them 10 for $10.
  • Oh, and I use mayo with Olive Oil.... but I don't really have a healthy recipe... I just try to use as much organic food as I can.
  • bump for ideas I love CRAIZANS in mine....

    2 cups diced chicken breast
    !/2 cup non fat yogurt
1/2 cup reduced fat sour cream
    1 tblsp fat free mayo
    Diced celery to your liking
    1/2 c Craizans

Gave recipe to a friend..she gave to a friend..now everyone of us prefer craizans....
  • I found this one on a website...

    Chicken Salad

4 chicken breasts, cooked and sliced*
1:1 mayo and sour cream seasoned with dill weed, basil, and garlic
(about ½ cup each—or double this and save half as extra for spread/dip)
    salt to taste
½ large or 1 medium sweet (Vidalia) onion, thinly sliced
1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
    4 stalks celery, thinly sliced
    red seedless grapes, halved
    almonds, sliced

Mix Mayonnaise, Sr. Cream, Dill Weed, Basil, Garlic and Salt – all seasonings to taste. Set Aside

    Slice all your ingredients
    Mix ingredients with mayo mixture

    What you will need:

    For the salad:

2 cooked boneless, skinless chicken breasts (mine weighed a total of 1 pound,) chopped
    1/3 cup dried cranberries
    1/3 cup sliced almonds
1/3 cup diced onions and diced celery (mixed)

    For the dressing:

8 ounces plain, fat-free Greek yogurt
    1/2 teaspoon curry powder
    1/2 teaspoon soy sauce
    1 squeeze lemon juice
    salt and pepper to taste

In a large bowl, mix chicken, cranberries, almonds, celery, and onion. In a separate small dish, prepare dressing by mixing yogurt, curry powder, soy sauce, lemon juice, and salt and pepper together. Combine dressing with the salad ingredients and mix well. Serve on your favorite bread, or on top of fresh greens!
