Eating out of pure boredom!

I swear I have gain 10lbs in the past 3 months by eating out of boredom in the afternoon. I need to get a handle on this quick. I have lost 80lbs and was at my healthy/feel good weight. I stay home with my son and it seems at nap time, I start to snack and then I can't quit. I'm not sure how I fell back into this rut. Any advice or tips?!

  • There are a couple of options. If you don't want to be eating at that time, make it a special time for something else. Do a home workout, wash some dishes, do your nails. Anything to keep you busy and away from food.

Alternatively, you could plan that snack in to your food plan for the day and make sure it's something nutritious. This part will only work if you think you can stop yourself from binging on it later in the afternoon.

I completely agree with "sheschemes". Maybe find a little hobby to keep your mind and hands focused elsewhere?

Run errands, pick up a hobby, start a blog, DO SOMETHING!

I am the same way. Now when I find myself with an hour of free time my mind goes nuts and I find something to do. I have a long list of housework/plans so I am set lol

I have his problem at work. I see my work, get bored, and run to the break room for snacks. I think I need a new job.... LOL

I'm at the same point. Toward the end of the day I have a really tough time. I was home alone this weekend for the first time in over 3 years. That was a REAL struggle, especially since I know where all the bad food is.

I had to will myself to keep busy with something and if I just took a break I had some herbal tea.
