I'm Baaaaaaaack!

Well I had started to try to lose weight, and then I found out I was pregnant....so my weight loss journey had to come to a hault. I had a beautiful baby girl, and she is now one year old. I wanted to wait to start working on weight loss until I was done breastfeeding, (I had to exclusively pump and any fluctuation in calories would drastically effect my supply) and now that I have stopped completely I am so ready to work on myself! I was about 223 when I got pregnant, and only gained about 20 lbs. I am at 218 now and I am so ready to get back into the groove of workng out and eating right.
I am starting slow - I'm just doing 2000 calories for now. Since I was not used to that amount I wanted to give my body a chance to adjust to how eating 2K calories feels. I plan on gradually decreasing my calories by about 100 each week. But in the meantime I am still working out. I started by walking on the treadmill for about 10 minutes, then the elliptical, and on days I can't get to the gym before work I go on the walking trails at work. I do plan on adding in strength training too.
I actually would like to set my first big goal to be at 180...I was at this weight last time I had succesfully worked on weight loss, and I felt so great. After I reach that weight I think I can get down to 165.
I am super excited to get back to using MFP, last time I used it I lost about 30 lbs!
As far as meals, I have been trying to incorporate fresh fruits/veggies into every meal, and I think that is really helping. My husband is one of the "meat and potatoes" guys, and last night he chose a second helping of the salad I made instead of anything else! I was very happy.
Where do you find your recipes? I do a lot of searching on Pinterest. I love it. I am also blogging about the meals I create...I can't help that I'm a foodie, but I'm trying to incorporate healthy foods into my blog. I will also blog about other stuff, but mainly it will be about the meals I create for my family.
Whoa didn't think this would be so long. I look forward to reading about everyone's journey!
