^^^Agreed - except I wouldn't grab fuit before bed. Too much sugar.0 -
Don't eat while sleeping and don't eat late if it causes major heartburn or other difficulties sleeping.
As far as impact on weight loss or over all health - there really isn't any0 -

No, it does not matter when you eat. You are actually very efficient at burning calories when sleeping.0 -

This.
But, in order to keep the peace with the 'support and motivation' nazi's, I have to say that agreeing with Cory is not implying that anyone who disagrees isn't a special little flower that deserves respect and consideration just like any other person.0 -

The thing is, if you wake up hungry; by all means get up, take a bite of something and go back to bed. Sleep is not some magical period where your soul travels to fairy land and your body magically breaks the laws of physics and you process calories into more calories through some kind of compound f*ckery.0 -

Believe me, I have a deep and abiding love for peanut butter, but I learned my lesson after trying to wash it out of my hair when I dropped the spoon full of natural super chunk PB in my hair while I was sleeping.0 -
Sleep eating is a terrible thing. I mean, you don't remember eating it. I would go crazy knowing I ate some delicious food, but was too busy sleeping to enjoy it.0

You can eat whenever you like. Your body doesn't check time to see if it's hungry or not, it just signals you if it really is. The big problem is many people have met or exceeded their calorie intake by dinner then eating even more before bed adding to a higher calorie surplus. Of course you'll get fat, but the correlation is wrong to assume it was from late night eating.
I eat well after 11pm EVERY night for the last 20+ years (I used to do door to door sales and got home after 11pm many times) and the weight hasn't piled on.

I can vouch that it does. I've stopped buying certain foods like Cheetos and other sweets in large amounts because a) they aren't that good for you anyway, and b)there would be mornings I'd wake up with a bag or other paraphernalia on the floor or with crumbs in the bed.
As to the OP - it doesn't really matter and won't affect weight loss when you eat. Just eat consistently through the day. I almost always have a little something before I go to sleep.0 -

Even that isn't mandatory (eating throughout the day). Some would even argue that eating two or so meals during a smaller window (say, 4-6hrs of an evening, morning, middle of the night...lol) of the day can provide substantial benefits...assuming you get your calories in of course.0 -

It's actually alchemy. I even have a transmutation circle drawn...

I followed that mess about not eating for 3 hours before bed, couldn't lose weight. Started eating when I was hungry including after midnight, lost 27lbs so far. IMO it's bunk.0

Thanks for posting this. I have been told by everyone giving advice about weight loss not to eat after 8 PM. It didn't make any sense to me. Weight loss is just a matter of calories in vs. calories out. It can't matter what time of day you eat. Your body doesn't have a weight loss clock.0

So true, AlexPflug. The trick for me is that if I eat late, I am tired and will power is at low ebb, so I start with a healthy snack and end up sucking up a jar of peanut butter through a straw. I'm eating to stay awake, not because I'm hungry. So it's not about time of day, but it is about my frame of mind at that time of day!:yawn:0

No, it is not necessary to worry about that sort of thing. If you want to eat an hour before bed, it is not going to scupper your weightloss0 -
Nope. As long as you have a deficiency for the week, you can eat whenever you want!0

No0

Hiker282: Please, please, please forgive me for saying this, but you need a woman! Trust me, she won't let you eat Cheetos in bed.0

as i heard a doctor say once, calories are calories, and it doesnt matter when you eat, tho i try not to eat past 9 because then i will be snacking all night, so i cut myself off0

Meal timing is not really important in terms of losing weight. Eat when you want to, your body will balance it out.0 -
