Homemade Protein shakes

For the past 11 months I have been using Protein shakes in the morning as a replacement for Breakfast a meal I never have time to eat because of my job...
They have helped in 2 ways:-
1) Increasing my Protein has helped with building healthy muscle and my training schedual
2) Having Protein for breakfast stops me getting hungry.
However recently I have been finding all the flavoured shakes getting sweeter and sweeter as my tastes have changed so much so I was beginning to get nauseous so in line with my drive to eat cleaner and cleaner I have just started making my own and am wondering why I waited so long.
It is so so simple
200g of frozen or fresh berries (Occasionally I pop a passion fruit or Kiwi in)
300mls of Almond or Hazelnut milk
35g of MyProtein Whey Isolate powder unflavoured
All whizzed up in a blender and It come out like a thick McDonalds shake.... and equals
11g Carbs
8g Fat
35g Protein
Perfectly balanced for the day.....
I stick to berries and I tend to avoid other fruit because of the fructose effect on blood sugar...

Glad you hit on something you like!
I sometimes just add the protein to milk; other times I add fruit, like a banana or berries. Kiwi sounds great. It is getting close to peach season here, so I'll be using them or strawberries fresh soon.0 -
sounds yummy too.0

My protein shakes probably aren't as healthy, but they are yummy. I put in one small yogurt, usually strawberry flavour, about 1/2 cup of lactose free milk, a splash of OJ, a scoop of Jillian Micheals vanilla protein powder and frozen strawberries, or other berries. Makes a thick shake and keeps me full until lunch.0

I have found really good protein shake that gives you all the nutrients of all the fruits and veggies you need in a day, full of amino acids, superfoods, low glycemic index, and pretty tasty! I love it, I would never be able to get all those nutrients otherwise :drinker:0
