I have been eating healthier since March. I normally eat Special K Protein Plus for breakfast with skim milk. I use to add walnuts but the beginning of April changed to adding Almonds. This is the only change that I can think of in my diet that I eat regularly.Well I have upped my protein some but definitely still get plenty of carbs as well. I have had horrible-seriously gross gas for the last three weeks. I keep thinking it is going to end as my body adjusts but it hasn't. Super embarrassing as I have never had this issue before and I have my own office that different ones come into several times a day. No hiding the fact that it is me. Would the almonds be causing this? anyone else ever have this problem? I'm thinking I'm done with almonds although I love to eat them and they seemed healthier than some of the other nuts.

Stop eating the almonds and see what happens. Your body just might react to them differently.
  • Chances are the gass is from an increase in protein in your diet. It is an unfortunate side effect of getting/eating healthier. I can't tell you how many people I have heard complain about it including my wife. Your body is processing foods that are slow to digest and as you eat healthier and get fitter your body will adjust with it. Gas is a common side effect that few people like to admit to. If you have bad gass...unfortunately...your probably doing it right.

I had the same problem. 'They' say that your body adjusts to the increase in fiber over time and the gas/smell goes away. Well I've been eating the same stuff for almost 4 mths now and I still have the problem. It became so embarrassing, I was afraid to go anywhere in public. I tried Beano and it works! Thank you God. lol You just have to make sure you use it before you eat. The only problem is that it's expensive. I'm trying to find a cheaper alternative. Good luck to you and I hope it gets better for you soon.
