Angie back then! She is one of the most famous 'apple shaped' women and we have similar body shaps/frames

Good Lord. It's sad; I'd forgotten she'd looked like that.

Now, if I could get rid of this last bit of bellypooch, Angie circa TR would be a realistic goal!

I like this one as well again for me realistic and still womanly and curvy :)

^I must say, how is this curvy?

I was thinking that too.. 1. not "curvy" and 2. she doesn't look healthy. I'm sorry, but i think she would still be considered overweight. And while I don't think we all need to be sticks, I do think we should all strive for a HEALTHY body weight and figure. If this is all that you hope to attain, you will still be settling, IMO.

I don't think she'd even be "overweight", I think she'd be "obese". I know BMI isn't everything, but she'd only have to weigh 185lbs (at 5'6'') to be considered "obese" by the medical profession.

I agree. This is how I used to look at 180lbs (5'5) and I must say I felt terrible, very unhealthy, unfit and unsexy. Nomatter what anyone says, you CANNOT be fat AND healthy. Being slim will always come as a by-product of healthfulness.

OMG, these women are all too skinny!!!

    KateWinslet.jpg

Kate Winslet is my ideal figure, she looks like a real woman, not a barbie doll!!

Yes Kate Winslet is lovely but so are all these others. I'm pretty sure they all have vaginas and are therefore 'real women'.

Thank you, psiren! I am about sick to death of hearing the "real women" comment. I've even seen it from an author that I otherwise like who says, "anything less than a size 5 isn't a women, it's a boy with boobs."

    How insulting is that?

Shes cute maybe just one-two sizes larger than my goal, BUT, it all depends on where you are coming from. I held my breath on the too small (also didnt look healthy) pics. Everyones goal will be different. If you're coming from 300, 185 aint so bad..If you're coming from 145, 130 aint so bad. Its a goal. Its personal.

Since I have a (currently very large) hourglass shape, and I have no desire to get too skinny (by my standards, no offense to anyone with other standards), my ideal body shape for me is Kat Dennings.

Can't get picture to work, link is here... http://shorester.files.wordpress.com/2011/05/kat_dennings99.jpg

    Miranda Lambert is my motivation.
Shes not skinny, but shes definitely not fat.
Shes a little thick and curvy, but you can tell she is active.

& also myself from last year IS A MAJOR MOTIVATION. Sounds silly I know, but I gained about 40 lbs in a year. I was so close to my goal and had gallbladder surgery and shortly after went back to my old ways....

Agreed. :-) he's a bit thick in the middle. Your arms and shoulders look like you're pretty close, though. Make sure you even it out with legs too. Can't tell from the pic.

So let me get this right, the moderator deleted my picture of the young lady with the tattoos (which is ALL OVER THIS FORUM by the way...where do you think I got it?), but left the picture of the girl with the wet t-shirt no bathing suit, in what appears to be 34F water?

...maybe it was removed because you are a guy posting a pic of a girl's body that motivates you...

i think the idea is bodies that you can achieve, not bodies that you hope to achieve a shag with.

Lol, I know you don't like me much, that's ok, to each their own you know?

But, here's the thing. Yes, my post was initiated with humorous intent. But!...I was actually (and you can go back to OTHER threads where I've posted that picture where the moderation HASN'T butted their nose in and selectively applied their 'rules') bringing it up to possibly be used for motivation for others.

So, how about you NOT assume my motives for my actions, and I won't assume you're a bitter, male bashing Linda.

    Sound good?

Oh, and one other thing...I believe I saw your post in the bashing/support/motivation thread (if not I apologize). If so...I'd like to point out that your perceived tone was insulting, your assumption (without knowing me or my personality/reasoning) of my full motivation was insulting, and your actual verbage in your commentary was insulting.

    Think on that.

I don't remember you from anything previously... but I did just see you posting in another thread (that i didn't post on) saying super nice and helpful stuff, so i certainly don't dislike you. O_O

I didn't actually mean to be insulting. vulgarity attempted in humour will often cause that, though. I'm sorry for that and actually hovered over whether to 'lol' at the end or not.

while I'm here I might as well put in a general objection to members of either sex putting up photos for members of the other to aspire to, purely because 1) what men are attracted to (definitely not you, though, from what you said in another thread) often does not entirely overlap with healthy bmi/body-fat, 2) and men are often way more sensitive to body-type pressure than many women will ever hear about, to a point where they neglect other aspects of their lives or turn to roids.

^ this general objection didn't occur to me until you said you'd specifically put that pic up to motivate women. so, sorry you thought I was having a snark at you. I didn't mean to earlier, and i don't mean for the above to be snarky at all either.

Thank you for clarifying that...and for the PM! You're 100% right in that both the internet in general, and differences in culture/humor make a really big difference in how things are meant and/or perceived.

    So...I apologize as well.

    Friends?
Can't believe my pic of Katy Perry got deleted, whats wrong with a little side boob? I am showing more skin in my profile pic ffs.

No kidding, they deleted mine again as well, and a slew of others. I think it's hilarious how they just come in and delete 1/3 of the pictures on a thread lol...despite how many people have clearly said they were motivated.

At least they did it across the board this time though.

FROM 430 POUNDS TO 190 POUNDS AND I'VE NEVER BEEN HEALTHIER, BEAUTIFUL BLOODWORK, STRONG AND HEALTHY BODY AND FRANKLY, I LOOK GOOD BECAUSE I WORKED HARD FOR IT. WHEN YOU LOSE A LOT OF WEIGHT THERE IS EXCESS SKIN WHICH WILL ACCOUNT FOR THE NUMBER ON THE SCALE. THE BODY THAT MOTIVATES US IS DIFFERENT FOR EACH OF US. I WANTED TO BE CHRISTINA HENDRICKS BUT NOW I SEE THAT I'M NOT BUILT LIKE THAT AS I'VE GOTTEN SMALLER, IT'S MORE LIKE SALMA HAYEK OR JENNIFER HUDSON. SETTING REALISTIC GOALS AT ANY SIZE IS THE BEST WAY TO ACHIEVE THEM. SOME WOMEN ARE APPLE SHAPED, SOME PEAR SHAPED AND SOME ARE HOURGLASS. WE HAVE TO FIND A HEALTHY AND ATTAINABLE BODY THAT INSPIRES US. IT MAY NOT BE YOUR IDEAL BUT IT IS SOMEONES DREAM. DON'T BASH IT. I WOULDN'T TELL YOU THAT ANYONE UNDER A SIZE 6 LOOKS SICK OR STARVING. (P.S. MY SISTER IS A SIZE 4 AND I REALIZE WE ALL CARRY IT DIFFERENTLY) IT'S HARD ENOUGH TO ACCEPT YOUR BODY AS IT IS LET ALONE WHILE YOU ARE WORKING HARD TO CHANGE IT. THE LAST THING WE NEED IS SOMEONE SAYING YOUR GOAL IS "FAT" FFS.... WHY EVEN TRY IF WE ALL WANT TO BE THE SAME? KINDNESS PEOPLE.

If the ultimate goal is the above photo, then yes, that goal IS fat! Somebody may lose 300lbs to reach the weight of the woman above, but why stop there when we KNOW and science has proven that excess body fat leads to all sorts of health problems down the line? At the other end of it, you have skinny people with crappy lifestyles who have accumulated a lot of 'visceral' fat around their internal organs, so skinny doesn't necessarily mean healthy, however I don't think its right to promote 'fat' as a goal. Fat can be extremely beautiful...beauty comes from within. But it isn't healthy.

    ^^^ THIS

We are all different, and each of us has a different natural body weight. (For none of us it's extreme or obesity, but for a lot of us it's thicker or thinner than average). There have been studies that show that being overweight by itself does NOT cause an increase in cardiovascular disease or anything else. It's the lack of exercise and low cardiovascular fitness level that makes people unhealthy (which often times, if someone is obese it's because they are not active). But if you compare active overweight individuals to active "normal weight" individuals (and I'm not talking about 100 pounds overweight here), there's no difference in health.
