hey MFP-ers!!
i have a quick question -
I'm planning on doing the 30 day shred in conjunction with couch to 5k over the next few weeks. i'm not new to working out and figured i needed to step it up a little (plus trying to train for a marathon relay in dec).
Would it be best for me to do it all in one workout (pop dvd and then go outside to run/walk) or better to break it into 2 workouts morning and pm. i'll be walking on alternate days on the c2k plan but maintaining 30 day shred everyday, so same predicament those days too....
i've heard ppl say it's not good to train your body 2x a day so was just curious on what everyone thought or was doing (extra cardio at same time or separate)??
thanks for your advise/suggestions! :flowerforyou:

I'd break it up. If you're tired from one, I personally feel you're going to be shortchanging yourself for the second.
If you do c25k first, your movements might have less range of motion, meaning you're getting shortchanged in your workout. Likewise, if you do the workout first and then run, you might be more prone to injury - or worse - burning yourself out.
However if you do one in the morning, and then one in the evening, it gives you a chance to relax in between and for your body to start to heal up a bit. In fact on runner's world they specifically list benefits for breaking it up this way. They even go so far as to talk about different combinations of morning/evening workouts and the usual effect they provide.

Break it to 2. That's what I do when I overeat my calorie.. event I want to do 2 hours of high/med intensity but... b/c it will realease cotisol (?) and break down my muscles.
I plan to go swimming tonight.. <sigh> overeat again....
COUNT DOWN: 5 mores days to lose 2.5 lbs. I will lose 26lbs by xgving (11 weeks) and get blue ray player as the reward.0 -
