Really Struggling

I have been with MFP for 3+ weeks and I was really successful the first week by losing 3 pounds (water weight) and then a little more the next week, I am down a total of 7 pounds and the scale goes up and down by a few pounds. I lost 1 inch in my waste and 2 inches in my hips. I have been really struggling because it has just stopped, I am walking 3 miles a day, eating my calories like I am suppose to do. I have cut out a lot of things and yet the weight loss and inch loss has just stopped. I am getting discouraged and don't know what to do.
I know that people are going to say that what I have already achieved is great, but I don't feel it. I don't see a difference with anything and I just want to grab a cheeseburger and fries and indulge. I won't do that, but the urge is really strong. I don't want to give up, someone please tell me what I need to add to my plan to help me boost my loss again.
Thanks,
Jenna

It's hard to say since you haven't made your diary public, but weight loss does seem to slow down after the first couple of weeks after you've lost some water weight. Things that can sabotage it:
- too much sodium
- too many carbs
- not enough protein
- not enough water
I've seen all of these suggested, and debated. Sodium and protein seem to be the biggies for me; carbs and water not so much.0 -
LOL I want a cheeseburger too! hang in there! What got me thru my cheeseburger urge... this time... is a recent news article on tainted beef, and a new occurrence of mad cow disease!! Hope that helps! You are so strong and awesome, you CAN do this!0

I admit to eating a cheeseburger. There have been days that I have gone 700 calories over my limit. Though this is not a great thing and I don't recommend it, I do think that we cannot deny ourselves what makes us happy. If you want to eat something bad (cheeseburger or cheesecake) then make a commitment to either work off the calories or double your commitment the next day. Either way, making yourself miserable will not help you in the long run.0
