hi girlfriend, id recommend you check out happycow.com, they have a number of vegetarian/vegan cook books. they're recommendations are pretty spot-on, so i'd start there :) i havent personally purchased and used a vegetarian cookbook myself, but I respect the opinions and recommendations from happycow.com. Let me know how it works out for you!

If you're curious I would check out "Skinny B|tch in the kitchen" which is also recommended on that website.

Not cook-book related, but something to read during your commute or on your free time, "Skinny b1tch" is their first informative book on vegan/vegetarian lifestyle/eating and it has a lot of simple and interesting information for people who are new to that lifestyle and who want to stop eating crap, haha. I recommend it. (sorry i had to insert different characters into the b word because for some reason i cant type bad words on this site. maybe its just my work computer).

Try vegetariantimes.com. You can look up recipes by type and save them to your account. You don't even have to subscribe to the magazine. It has the most interesting and varied vegetarian recipes I have found - not just chopped veggies over rice or pasta.

Have you tried vegweb.com? It is mostly vegan, but there are THOUSANDS Of recipes, including a low fat one. I really like the way users comment and show how they modify recipes. Good luck!

Those are all vegan but they have great recipes. I am guessing you are trying to go ovo/lacto vegetarian?

skinnytaste.com they have a vegetarian tab you just click on. It's really nice, and gives the nutrition information to everything they post.
