Obviously you have to be lifting but getting cut is about diet! If you've been following a strength training plan you will get the aesthetics when you get to a low enough bf%.0

It's about calorie deficit and making sure your macros and micros are right IMO. I bulk and cut every year (although bulking has pretty much reached it's limit the past few years now). On a cut cycle now and it's just calorie deficit.

^Like they have said.
Getting cut and seeing the definition is all about your diet. You can lift and do workouts and what not all you want, but you can't get the cut look without a good diet and low BF%.0 -

If you want it and want it to be sustainable, there s only one right way to accomplish this... NO SHORT CUTS. You must do strength training and you must have strict adherence to good nutrition.
The strength training (weight lifting) will put on the muscle. The nutrition will get your body fat to a level where the muscle definition is visible. As a target example, you'll need 7-8% body fat for 6-pack abs to show.
Forget the supplements (unless they're vitamins to give you what your food intake isn't.). Forget any fad/crash/ short-term-starve-yourself diet .0
