I have been working out again after a slipped disc went back in place and I have lots of beautiful muscle pain. I want to do zumba today but I don't know if should? I've got about 45 min to decide

Depends on the pain. If it's soreness from a previous workout, then yes. If it's something tweaked or pulled - injury pain - then no.

You don't necessarily have to stop exercising altogether. Just don't do the exercises that hurt until it heals. If it's an exercise related injury you don't want to make it worse, but don't let it stop you either.

Zumba is a really tough exercise. Really, a doctor is the only one qualified to answer your question for your circumstances. A slipped disk is not something I would mess around with.

I have to agree that it depends on the type of pain.

If its pain from something you could potentially make worse by working out, then definitely don't keep exercising. But if its something that is just going to hurt regardless (I have a bad knee from previous injuries but nothing ongoing, and fibromyalgia) I generally try to grit my teeth and bear it.

With a slipped disk i wouldn't be doing Zumba. Ask your doctor though to see what is okay to do.

The slipped disc is fixed lol that's not the type of pain. I'm talking about when you get into excersising again and you've worked your muscles and the pain comes the morning after. Ive been told to take breaks but I'm not sure.

Could not have said it better myself. The reason for the pain is key.

Haha I was gonna say you are hard core if your doing Zumba with a slipped disc! All I could do with a slipped disc was curse

    Ah, that's different!

You make the choice for yourself. Sometimes its better to give yourself a day in between until you are used to exercising again. Or do it in small doses. My doctor had me start at 10 minutes twice a day every day. Others say workout 3 days, and rest in between workouts.

Yep, it depends... if its a headache, or even menstrual cramps.. hell yeah!, makes me feel better and the pain disappears..
But in your case, its something more serious, so I wouldnt do it

Everything in moderation is always a good saying.

What I ask myself is "Am I injured or am I hurt?" If I'm not injured then I'll still exercise but I'll either take it easy or work something un-related to what's hurting.
