Exercises for lazy days

I was supposed to go out for a long walk today, but I wasn't feeling all that great, so I stayed home.
While researching on my laptop, I was laying on the couch & cycling in the air with my legs. It may not have been a 'proper' workout, but it was better than nothing.
What are some other small exercises I can do on days when I don't really feel like doing anything?
{& before anyone tells me to just get up & do something I don't want to, I'll just say that I'm not interested in hearing it. All I want to know about is small exercises I can do when I DON'T want to just get up & do something more)

Pull out the exercise ball and use as a chair through out the day....you will have to use the core muscles to maintain balance. Pick it up over your head then sit it back on the floor then repeat several times......when done use it as a foot prop! : )0

What? We you reading my exercise journal or something ??? hahahaha I live my life on lazy man exercises!! Not intentionally though. I have a desk job, hence on average was 6 hours of not getting up! So about a year ago I decided to try and lose weight. Since then I fell off the track but I never got rid of my lazy office work out!
Here's what I can suggest from my own experiences:
@ Home
*Cooking always burns calories but instead of going to plop on the coch while something is in the oven..stand and read a magazine. I go through my mail while stuff is cooking. I used to run to the nearest seat, even if it was for a mere two minutes in between browning meat! I've been also known for doing squats while waiting for stuff to boil. Basically any light cardio while cooking works.
*Cleaning- While I'm tidying up the house I used to go room to room in order of where I was currently standing. Now I scatter. I'll hit up the farthest room and literally walk around it to 'scope' out the mess, then clean. Then hit the farthest room from that. Before you know it you've walked a mile!! And cleaning adds to the burn!
@Work----
*I have little 1/2 lb weights in my drawer. I have an app called Routinely that I set for reminders to get up and do my 'desk exercise'. I do 3 sets of tri's, bi's and add in a few sets of squats. It seems like a great workout but sometimes I have to break. (phone, people, doorbell..whatever) but I always go back and finish. Twice a day, 4x a week.
*At least twice a day (especially if nothing is going on) I stand up, write the time down on a piece of paper, and stand for anywhere from 45m to an hour. I thought at first this would be so simple but honestly...when you're just standing there with everything you need within reach to lean on...it's not so easy! If I were a checker or doing my coaching duties (I coach youth football) the standing wouldn't seem so long. But it does burn a few handfuls of calories off.
* Here's one that has gotten me weird looks....DANCE!! I'm alone a lot at the office so if I'm feeling goofy (which is a lot!) I go to youtube and pick out something I've saved (Runaway from Bruno Mars at the awards show makes me feel like I can pull off doing a James Brown...no splits though..not at work) or look up something. Since no one sees me I dance like an idiot!! Figure that's a few minutes right there!
Hope you find something that helps! Oh and if you're thinking,"Geez! This woman is proably all fit..." wrong! I"m 5'3" / 180 and fighting! I just shed my first pounds last week, was 184. Moving this chucka lunk body is hard work all its own!0 -
Buy an exercise bike. You tone your butt and legs and burn 100 calories in 15 minutes. I use mine when I feel lazy!0

when I don't feel like doing anything/leaving the house, I load up my wii fit and do 30 or 60 minutes on the free step. Just stepping on and off rhythmically, while I watch tv. Still feel like I'm being lazy cos I'm doing what I fancied doing instead of exercise anyway0

when sitting at the computer, try jigging your legs. if, like me, you enjoy staying inside all day while eating the same as you would on an active day, jigging/fidgeting burns the extra calories! Standing up is always better, same with clenching and unclenching muscles. exercise for the lazy - my life saver! x0

For those days, I've found I can just strap 5lb ankle weights to my legs. Then, as I walk around all day, even for trips up and down the stairs or whatever, I'm getting in a little more work than I normally would.0
