lost a bunch of weight and then gained it all back :(

I joined mfp in January 2011 and by May I had lost about 15 pounds. I got so thin people thought I had a problem, so I stopped counting/logging my food. However now I have pretty much gained it all back. I am getting married in the beginning of July and really hope that the 10 pounds I want to loose now aren't to hard to get rid of. However I am having trouble getting myself to go to the gym like I use to and also I am getting very bad headaches. I am trying to drink a lot more water to get rid of the headaches, so I hope that will solve some of my problems.
I started the program with a friend back in January 2011 and she has kept the weight off so if anyone want to friend me it would be much appreciated. I know its a lot easier loosing weight when you are doing it with someone!

you can still count and log your food even if you are trying to stay at a current weight.
i know it is hard to get motivated, a few years ago i was down to 110 and happy and next thing i know as of a few months ago i had gotten up 17 lbs, no idea how it happened.
i would suggest to start it easy with exercise and ease your way back in, if you really are having bad headaches and you are consuming enough water maybe go to MD to make sure everything is okay.
once you are back in the groove and are satisfied at that weight, witch to maintenance mode and just keep tracking to make sure you aren't going over a healthy amount of calories.
i'm not specialist or anything but that is what i would do and will do once i get to a good weight for myself.
best of luck to you, it is very hard and discouraging, especially when you have worked hard and gain the weight back.0 -
i'd friend you, but i would love a picture of someone/something in your profile!0

do you see this coming? what do you think is the cause?
from losing the weight, had you gone through a very intense diet?0 -
I lost 14 on here and gained back about 24... had to start all over and then some a while back.
Hang in there and stay positive:)
Good luck!0 -
i feel you, its discouraging when that happens. i lost 60 lbs after quitting smoking and gaining a ton. but seems every holiday i put on twenty lbs i spend the whole year struggling to shed just to repeat the process next holiday. and in the south, they are not happy if you dont stuff yourself for every special occasion! literally ppl get mad. its a trap, lol.
i with you, loosing my motivation, running low on steam. keep trying to force out some, fake it, but its hard sometimes when you feel alone in it.
best of luck in your journeys sweetie! hugs!0 -

First - Congratulations on your pending nuptials! :flowerforyou:
I'm sure MANY of us have been in the same boat. I certainly have! Usually stress is what triggers me to eat whatever and however much I want and then - boom - the weight's back before I know it!
Evenutally I would like to try to lose another 5-10 lbs (I have the extra "padding", believe me), but for now I am in "maintenance" mode. I still log EVERY DAY and I am maintaining my weight. I know how easy it is to slip back into eating too much, or the wrong things, or too much of the wrong things! I've told myself that after maintaining for 3 months, I may try logging 3-4 days a week instead of every day... or maybe every other week.. or something like that. But, I don't think I'll ever NOT log. I don't think I'm the sort of person that will work for.
BTW - Headaches - could they be allergy related? It's that time of year and I certainly get them, although it never bothered me before the last few years.
Best of luck... if you've done it once, you can do it again! Don't worry about what OTHER people say. You know you... you know your body... you see it completely naked so YOU know if you need to lose more or not. I have had people tell me the same. I tell them "You say that because you haven't seen me in a swimsuit!" That usually does it. :laugh:0 -
don't worry about the past.. take day by day.. meal by meal .. start with logging and looking at what you are comfortable with changing .. then slowly you will see changes come about.. and keep logging on and make friends. feel free to friend me.0

you did it once...you CAN do it again..happy wedding to you0

I had lost 40 pounds and now I'm at 19 pounds. I have lost 8 in the past 2 weeks. I have a problem of losing and then gaining it back no matter how I lose the weight. I just love to eat sweets and desserts so I decided to stay away from those kinds of foods and try to get this weight off that way.
Good luck! for me it easy to get the weight off....the hard part is keeping it off.0 -

I keep promising myself I'll stick to my guns, but family is so good at guilt. lol. esp the in-laws! guess i'll just need to learn to be HIGHLY ACTIVE (beyond reason) around the holidays.0 -
I've lost & regained weight more times than I care to remember! :ohwell: Just really focus on your wedding day, & how you want to look your best in your dress - I'm sure you can do it!Unfortunately, it happens to a lot of people. But if you only want to lose about 10lbs, that's not so bad. I have lost & gained back about 6 times as much as that in the past!
Good luck, & hope you have a wonderful wedding! :flowerforyou:0 -
