All of these will work... the key ingredient is tahini paste though. It's a must!0

All of these sound great. You will not get the flavor you are used to in restaurant hummus if you don't use tahini. It's essential IMO.0

I love Sabra too and my favorite is with raw veggies. I tend to overeat though so making at home with less fat would be better. Thanks for sharing your recipes.0

Buffalo Wing Hummus:
Ingredients
1 1/2 cups canned chickpeas, drained and rinsed (reserve 1/4 cup of the liquid)
2 cloves garlic
1/8 cup (2 tbsp) tahini
1/8 cup (2 tbsp) fresh lemon juice
3/4 tsp paprika
1 tbsp barbecue sauce
1 1/2 tbsp Frank’s Red Hot (or similar cayenne pepper sauce)
1 1/2 tsp white vinegar
3/4 tsp salt
Instructions
1. Add everything to a food processor and blend until it reaches the texture you want. Enjoy.
I actually put 2.5 tbs of Frank's Red Hot buffalo wing sauce and omitted the barbecue sauce completely. It was amazing with celery and pita chips!0 -
I dip ANYTHING vegetable or cracker/bread related. Also put it on sandwiches. Here is my recipe. I've found the GFS chickpeas to give the best flavor so I use them. The can is giant so this makes A METRIC TON of hummus :-D
3/4 cup lemon juice
1/2 cup tahini
8 cup chickpeas (GFS; Gordon Food Service)
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp ground cumin
2 tbs garlic (about 5 cloves)
1 1/2 cup water (as needed)
I use a KitchenAid mixer for most of the work and hit it with an immersion blender to finish off the consistency.
Mix lemon juice, tahini, and salt until "frothy". Add chickpeas about 1 1/2 cup at a time. Add water as needed to keep the mixture smooth. Add garlic and cumin about halfway through. Continue to add water as needed until thoroughly blended and smooth. Serve in a bowl with olive oil and paprika for garnish/presentation.0 -

I have one my friend gave me. It is actually a sweet one and is YUMMY!!!
Cookie Dough Hummus
1 1/2 cups chickpeas (1 can, rinsed well and drained) (250g)
1/4 tsp salt
1/8 tsp baking soda
2 tsp pure vanilla extract
1/4 cup nut butter (You can get away with using only 3 T. If you use peanut butter, it’ll have a very-slight “pb cookie dough” taste, so if you don’t want this, you can sub oil.)
up to 1/4 cup milk of choice (Start with 1 T, and add more as needed)
Sweetener (see note below, for amount)
1/3 cup chocolate chips or Sugar-Free Chocolate Chips
2 to 3 T oats (or flaxmeal) (You can omit, but also omit the milk if you do)
Add all ingredients (except for chocolate chips) to a good food processor (not blender), and blend until very smooth. Then mix in the chocolate chips.
Sweetener Notes: I used 2/3 cup brown sugar when I first made this for the party. Liquid sweeteners (agave, maple, etc.) are fine as well, as is evaporated cane juice. You can easily get away with less sugar– some people will be perfectly fine with just 3 T for the whole recipe! And if you don’t want any sugar, you can also use stevia, if you like the taste of stevia-sweetened desserts. Try 2-3 packets of NuNaturals stevia, and add more sweetener if needed.0 -

Spicy Pepper Hummus
1 Can chick peas
1/3 Jar Jalapenos
4 Pepperonicini's
1 tbsp Olive Oil
1 tsp Tumeric
I ususally add some of the jalapeno juice as well. Blend until smooth and enjoy!0 -

I live in Israel where the national food is basically humus :-D
Your best bets for a BASIC humus:
chickpeas
garlic
good olive oil
lemon juice
pinch salt and pepper
mush it around in a blender - none of us follow recipes, we just throw in what looks right (1 cup chickpeas, 1 clove garlic, 2 tbsp oil and 1 or 2 tbsp lemon sounds right in my head - this will make a THICK humus; add more oil, lemon juice or water for thinner version)
traditional TOPPINGS
drizzle olive oil
paprika and crushed garlic
roasted red peppers (so yummy - can also be thrown in the blender!)
tahini
roasted mushrooms and crushed garlic
fried cauliflower florettes
In the middle east, we can eat humus as a full meal. There are literally restaurants that just serve humus with different toppings, you get a pita, and you mop up the bowl! I am new to the country so still getting used to humus as a meal, but I do eat it at least twice a week!0 -
I LOooooOOOve hummus, here's what I do:
Cilantro hummus (of which I make so many variations of, all measurements are estimated)
3/4 cup of dry garbanzo beans---> soaked over night and boiled for about an hour will make about 1.5 cups or so
1/2 to a cup of fresh cilantro
juice of one small whole lemon
3 cloves of garlic
2 tbs of tahini
2 tbs of extra virgin olive oil
1-2 tbs of ground cumin (i like using the smoked variety)
1/4 tsp of cinnamon (optional)
salt/pepper (optional)
Throw garlic, tahini, oil, spices in a food processor to get it going first, then add cooked garbanzo beans and fresh cilantro a little bit at a time to pulse until everything comes together in a consistency of your choice.

I take a big can of chickpeas, small can of chipotle peppers and about a tablespoon of EVOO and mix it up in my food processor. Yummy goodness!0

just made this today,,, took 2 minutes & it turned out great!,,,
TUNA FISH WITH HUMMUS (instead of mayo)
5 ozs can tuna in water (drained)
1 tsp oregano
1 tsp cajun seasoning (can substitute w/ black pepper if you wish)
1 tbsp baby leaf spinach (diced)
2 tbsp hummus
1 boiled egg
Mix all ingredients in a bowl with a spoon,,,
eat with wheat crackers, or make a tuna fish sandwich with wheat bread0 -
my husband is armenian and this is his recipe:
For every 1 can of prepared hummus (chickpeas) you put 1 tablespoon of tahini in.
Juice from 1/2 lemon
4-5 garlic cloves mashed with salt in a mortar and pestle till its like a paste
1 tablespoon plain yogurt
mix together
Pour olive oil over top lightly... make sure covered
Add sprinkle of cumin across top
Dried Syrian Red Pepper Powder (this is different than roasted red pepper you get at store, go to mediterranean market for this)
Dried mint sprinkled on
swirl spices around in oil
voila ... CLASSIC hummus0
