Hi!
I'm just checking in to introduce myself and ask if anyone here works nights and how they schedule their meals. It's been difficult breaking the habit of eating all night (and drinking lots of sweet tea and coffee) to stay awake at work.

Jolene you can look at my diary for help
I work 3rd shift
you can also go to The Official Nightshift Thread and you will find all the others here that work nights
you can also add me :bigsmile:0 -
I log from about 3pm to 9am. Basically from the time I get up, until I go to bed. Some people log from midnight to midnight... what ever works for you best!0

i had to give up the sweet tea, i would rather eat my calories
working nights i have never drank so much coffe my life:noway:0 -
i wake up at 9pm to be at work by 1130 and i consider it to be my morning time. since i eat between 5 and 6 times a day, i eat every time i have a break (about every 3 hours) and it ends up working fine for me. since i started eating on a schedule, i actually find it a lot easier to stay awake at night. and try some green tea instead. if you don't want any extra sugar, stevia is an artificial sweetener with no calories and its made from the stevia plant, so its all natural, not like splenda or sweet n low. or try honey.0

I go midnight to midnight because its easier for me to log on the weekends. I just know that on a weekday, my breakfast is at 9pm as opposed to 9am on the weekends.
I drink LOTS of water (at least 72 ounces a 10 hour shift at work), though tonight I am splurging on some sweet tea.0 -
I work a late swing shift, usually getting off around 1-2 am. So I broke up my diary into 4 hour blocks. So it isnt meals, just what I ate in that time. Since I am also more of a grazer.0

My shifts are all over the place but I eat a lot of raw veggies on nightshifts such as fresh snap peas, carrot sticks and drink a lot of green tea. Sometimes coffee, sometimes water or diet pepsi. Whatever helps. Usually I tend to eat light on nights. Just makes me feel better and I tend to get less of those "nightshift hangovers" when I wake up in the afternoons.0

I log midnight to midnight. I pack my lunch and graze on it through out the night.0

Hi there, i work from 830p-630a. my eating schedule is never the same, depends on how hungry I am when I get off of work and how long I sleep during the day. Coffee is a must, I also like black tea. Instead of sugar i use truvia or stevia, liquid stevia comes in different flavors, just recently found that out. Instead of cream for my coffee i use diet hot chocolate, only 25 calories a pack, fake starbucks as my coworker calls it. From midnight until the time i get off i try my best not to eat but if i have to it's a piece of fruit with an energy bar or peanut butter crackers. i also log midnight to midnight.0

There are groups on here you can check out to talk to people like yourself, Night Crawlers is one of them...along with Coffee Lovers. But, Night Crawlers is good, and there are also several 'night shift' threads floating around as well.0
