    I'm assuming you mean as in a weight measurement? If so, then it is equal to 14lb!

    joking aside, stones are common usage in the UK. One stone = 14lbs. Therefore someone says they weigh 10 stone, they weigh 140lbs.

    But, to answer your question it's a measure of weight.
    1 stone = 14 pounds (I think, we haven't used stones in Australia for about 40 years, but they're still used in some parts of the world).

    No, stones are pounds (i.e. seven stone eight is equivalent to 106 pounds - 7x14 + 8). It's no different to referring to 12 inches as a foot.
