MFP calories vs HRM calories

On MFP it says that to maintain my current weight I should have 1360 calories a day. I wore my HRM for the last 24 hours just to see if it was anywhere close to that. It said I burned 1884 calories in that 24 hours. Any ideas on calories?

HRM for 24 hours is not going to be accurate. Your heart rate can increase from other stimuli besides exercise. I am pretty sure HRM for calories burned is only accurate while doing cardio exercise.

There are other products that can give you a better idea of calories burned throughout the day. might want to look into one of those.

Generally the calculations used on this site and in other diet guides are given as standards. Most guides will tell you to increase or decrease calories based on how you feel and your results.

    I hope that helps
  • that seems like a good deficit, i think that's about right :-)

This. They aren't designed to be worn for that length of time and aren't accurate.

I wear a body bugg 24 hour/7 and get my normal calories burned. That seems really low anyway for the day. IF you are really interested, you could get one of these to tell you all the calories burned in a day ( well. a very good estimate anyway)
