What am I doing wrong? I have recently started getting in shape seriously for the first time in my adult life. I have been working out 6 days a week for at least an hour a day staying within my calorie counts and I have only lost around 6lbs!

Without seeing your diary and having so little information I just can't come up with any useful advice. There are so many variables.0

Make sure you take measurements. Weight loss is only a small part of the progress.0

I can't stress how important taking pics and measurments is. I didn't lose any weight for 3 weeks, and took a picture, compared it to my before and HOLY CHIT! I'd lost sooooo many inches. Don't worry about the number on the scale as much as the visual changes you see.0

Take measurements, as other have said. I also have been struggling with this and have changed from "lose 2lbs a week" to "lose 1.5lbs a week", this week I lost . It seems wrong to eat more but for some people its what works.0

I really needed to see this.. I'm experiencing the same thing (although, I've been working out most of my life in some fashion or another)... I am working my behind off for the last 60 days and have only seen minimal weight loss.. i know the bigger picture is inches and how I feel- but I sure wish that scale would catch on! Thanks for posting- you're not the only one out there with the problem...
On another note- I am personally more prone to put on muscle before I lose any fat- so I do know I'm becoming more toned/muscular.. so I always have that in the back of my mind.
Keep it up! We'll see results soon enough!0 -
With all that exercise you have to be gaining some muscle. Definitely measure or compare pictures...scales are the devil0

Working out and losing weight is a marathon and not a sprint. It’s not about how fast you get out of the blocks but how consistent you are over the long haul. Without seeing your diary and knowing what type of exercises you are doing, makes it hard to provide you with the right information to help you out. There are a bunch of people with tons of knowledge on this site with the right amount of information can probably get you on the right track. You can also go get checked out by your doctor and all the working out helps with your health numbers, blood pressure, heart rate, cholesterol, sugar levels so don’t get yourself down.0

6 pounds is actually a pretty good amount lost for 2 months. If you're in more of the "losing vanity weight" category (like me, really) the process can be reeeeally slow.0

Have you worked through the Helloitsdan "in place of a roadmap?" Because you seem to be way undereating... GladImTall that is, OP diary not open0 -
Thanks everyone! I am clinically overweight for the first time in my life and it has me freaked out. I need to take measurements. Got on the scale today and looks like I gained 2 lbs back! I hate the scale. =(0
