Dramatic Changes in A1C and Lipids

edited December 2024 in Success Stories
Okay, so I really began the new year with another resolution, exercise every day. So far, I've kept it pretty well, only missing 5 days since Jan 1. But I did not really expect the changes in my A1C and Lipids. In mid-December, my test results were: A1C - 8.6, triglycerides - 331, HDL - 29, LDL - 68, total cholesterol - 163. My weight on January 2 was 278.

Now, after my daily exercise regimen, eating right, and watching the portions my weight is down to 228 and my test results are: A1C - 5.3, triglycerides - 60, HDL - 43, LDL - 40, total cholesterol - 95.

I LOVE this site and app!!!!

Great job! My weight isn't coming off but my daily blood sugars have been really good so I am hoping my A1C next month will be good!

So glad to hear this! Isn't it amazing how simply paying attention to what you are doing (or not doing) can make such a dramatic change in your life! Love MFP for the inspiration I get from stories like yours! I had my blood work done on Friday and go today for results. My A1c was elevated last visit so the doctor gave me 6 weeks to loose some weight and change my diet! It is working. Hope today will show how hard I have been working! Glad my doctor did the A1c. My fasting blood sugars have all been great over the last few years so I had no idea I had any problem. Anyone reading this should ask their doctor to do the test on them.
