I personally only count water as water. Iced tea or any other drink is not water to me. Only water :) haha.

I don't bc then I fool myself into thinking I've consumed my water for the day. Many teas have caffeine and act as diuretics and for me I need pure water to keep me hydrated and going "normal". I have an extremely slow digestive system and when I cut my water I notice it right away plus I'll retain a ton of water if I'm slacking.

Personally, I don't count anything except water. However, a rule that was usable on WW (at least during the time I was on their program) allowed you to count other liquids as long as they were caffeine-free AND sugar-free... but only half of the daily consumption was allowed to be those drinks. So, basically you could have 4 glasses of water and 4 glasses of diet caffeine-free soda or sugar-free decaf tea.

Herbal teas as water...yes. But teas with caffeine in them are dyhdrating and counter to water intake.

    Drink up!!!

I count tea as water yes, in part because if I didn't, I'd NEVER make my daily water allowance. XD I HATE water. But, I count the tea I drink as water because what I drink is basically flavored water. Put the water in a pitcher (or bottle), add in the powder, and just because I now have a yummy flavored drink, it doesn't negate the water that I poured in the container to start with. The two quarts of water I put in my pitcher are still going to be drank, by me, it's just going to have a little something extra in it as well. I would think this counts whether your using powder tea, like I do, or using regular tea bags for your tea.

It actually could be negating the water you are drinking :( I would suggest cutting up citrus fruit and putting that in your water, or even cucumbers, instead of adding tea.

I count any decaffeinated/herbal tea as water, as long as it's just tea (leaves, not powder) and water, with no sugar or sugar substitute, because it is hydrating.

Tea is dehydrating. Maybe this is TMI, but I'm on a water pill and I notice if I drink only water, then I pee a lot. If I drink other things, even things without sugar, I don't pee as much. So that tells me that my body doesn't count it as water.

I'll admit that I haven't done a whole lot of looking into the subject, but as I understand it, the only way that could be a possibility would be if the tea was caffeinated, and even that I'm not sure on. I will say, however, that the tea I drink isn't. Of course, as I stated, I also hate water, so drinking either tea or flavored water is about the only way I'm going to GET my water, so I don't worry about it as much. ^^; I would be willing to bet that I NEVER got 8 cups of water in a single day before I stated drinking this way.
