I'm an old fart. My grandfather was a truck driver so I used the CB handle "boogs" when I was really little until about the third grade when I changed it to "E.T." I said it stood for "Extra Terrific."

Well, I know what you're talking about, but never had one. Had a ham radio license, but "KC8LBU" just doesn't have that ring to it.

Haven't thought of that in years! After graduating high school I waitressed at a place that all the morning (4-7am) customers were loggers, truck drivers or hunting/fishing guides and their clients. I was also dating the grandson of the owner of the largest logging company in the area....so everyone knew me. I would have an escort of trucks every morning on my drive to work. Half the time I would have their breakfast orders before I got there. The guides would let me know how many in the party for the day so I could get them all set up. I drove a copper colored Mustang II with a vinyl top and sun roof so they called me Copper Horse.

Wow! This brings back memories. Mine was "Almond Joy" when I was a kid. We would travel across country during the summer and talk to the truckers. They would alert each other to keep it clean because there were children listening. Good Times!

My childhood name was Brown Eyes---had a home base growing up. As an adult I flipped back and forth between Brown Eyes and Nightengale.

I'm an old fart! We used a CB one summer in the 70's driving from Michigan to Idaho. My Dad was Leadfoot, I was Bookworm and my brother was Little Britches. I don't think my mom had one--she didn't get into it.
