Green Tea pills... Any thoughts?

Hi there, I would like to know what your thought's are on green tea pills? In my personal research, I have never seen anything negative about the -purely- green tea pills. However these are my reasons for taking them:

1. I am trying to cut back on coffee, this replaces the caffine enough to keep the headaches under control.

2. I believe they are good for one's overall health in boosting imunities, preventing cancer, balancing blood sugar, ect.

3. I have never FELT better! I have energy like I've NEVER known before, I have never "crashed", I feel alert and as though my memory has improved, I have always had a hard time falling and staying asleep but have NOT had that problem since taking these. Is that just luck?

Note: I know that traditionally, they are used for weight loss. That is not my intended purpose but won't complain if that is a byproduct ;p

Have any of you ever tried these? How did you feel? What are your thoughts on them? Has anyone ever heard of NEGATIVE results or symtoms caused by these (short or long term)??

I just started taking them last week, so it's too soon to say. I am taking them for the antioxidant properties. Last summer I drank a cup (or two) of green tea every single day and never once got a sunburn (I usually crisp in under and hour) so I'm pretty sure that's what kept the sunburn away. However, I really hate the taste and feeling I get in my mouth, so I'm trying the pills instead. If they help with my weight loss, awesome. If not, that's ok.

How long have you been taking them? I haven't heard of negative effects, but I also haven't done a lot of research.

This is my first round of taking them consistantly over several, or more, days. That being said, this is my 6th day in a row and I'm just now really noticing how calm and clear my mind is. I am attentive and focused, I am even bubbly! lol I have also made drastic changes to both my eating and exercise in this last week, though. I never took them regularly before because the bottle says "burns fat" on the side and I have never heard of lasting effects from something easy and never wanted it messing with my actual progress :)

I took them daily when I first started dieting and exercising over the holidays. They are great for energy and workout stamina. I just take them now when I'm feeling tired and need a boost. Maybe once a week I'll take one and when I do, I can push through my workouts like nobody's business! If I don't take them with food I get nauseous, though. Be sure to take them with a meal and a glass of water! Good luck!

No bad side effects? I don't have any side effects unless (like you said) I don't eat with them, and even then I just feel a little shaky. I am just worried that I am training my body to want something it shouldn't...??

Mine don't even say a brand (it may have on the box, but I threw that away) It just has "green tea" and "fat burner" on the front and then the product info on the back...

My friend has had a lot of success with them. She really sings the green tea pill praises! I bought the Mega T and I feel jittery after taking them. I'm not sure if it's just a fluke, or if it's actually making me feel that way. I may try to take a couple in the upcoming week to see how it makes me feel.

I gave up coffee completely three months ago and I drink a cup of green tea every day.

The pills are ok. The cup of hot tea makes it easier to transition off of coffee.

I'd rather just drink green tea unsweetened.

coffee has ton times more antioxidants and around double caffeine then green tea. As far a pills goes, I hate them. I only take vitamin c and my multi vitamin ( 2 pills total ) in the mourning with breakfast.

I dont drink coffee everyday. Mostly just thusdays, thursdays, and sundays. I drink mine black.

IMO tea is better. Its naturally sweeter so you dont have to add sugar or creamer. Which mean less calories.

Over half the fun from tea is drinking it.

Yeah, I grabbed a box of that and the "active" ingredient is actually Chromium, which I'm not so wild about. I did try them this past week and I noticed that for once I wasn't freezing cold at work. Usually, I run around with my jacket on all day long. This week, I was actually sweating at times, but never jittery. IF there are supplements out there that are ONLY green tea, I'd love to try one to see if it has the same effect. I hate being cold.

With the nice weather, I have just started making green sun tea, too! I don't take the pills, just drink a few cups of green and/or white tea. It makes it easier to get my water in - it's hard for me to drink plain water. It would take a lot of liquid tea to get the amount you get in those concentrated pills. I'm sure you would see benefits faster than I would just drinking it. I recently read that green tea is great for fighting inflammation in the body. Enjoy! :drinker:

Those pills have a lot of extra junk in them. http://www.mega-diet.com/water-pill.shtml

Why not just drink the tea? Make some the night before or something and get a nalgene bottle, fill her her to the top, dash of lemon juice, and boom. Tea all day long.

As for the claim to reduce water weight. That is just a ploy to get people hooked on the product because they see initial success. Its not wonder drug and there is no substitute for hard work. Your body needs that water for its functions. Building and repairing muscle being on of them.

Nope, no side effects and I have the same kind that you have. It wasn't hard at all for me to stop taking them either. I just got sick of remembering to take them twice a day and got lazy with them. I think you're fine, but if you feel like you are doing something you aren't comfortable with, don't do it! :)
  • I get sick to my stomach if I take the Mega T Green Tea pills then don't eat. I will end up throwing up. I used to live off those pills, but I haven't used them in about 11 months. I get the same effect of "water loss" by drinking until I feel like I'm going to float away.

What had me worried is that I really do feel GREAT! lmao I could be a spokesperson! lol I can not take vitamins (they make me physically ill) so I was trying to get an extra boost going into my system, I know it doesn't replace a multi-vitamin, but it's the best I can do right now :)

I think I'm going to be more consistent with drinking green tea for 30 days and see how it goes. Let us know your results after some time.
