I have been searching Seti@home for a MFP team but haven't been able to find one...so I started one. Search for MFP under teams at http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/ if you want to join the team. The team will be open to anyone.

SETI is a program dedicated to the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence through analyzing radio signals from space. The platform is however also used for other programs such as Protein Folding at home etc. The concept is that you can give each person a very small amount of data to crunch but the combined effort is something like a super computer.

Its been a long time since I participated in seti@home. There were odd quirks with the linux software the last time I tried. I'll see if they got the bugs worked out.

I'm not a tech guy but there is a fairly dedicated linux following these days. The guys over at lunatics have a bunch of stuff on their site that I don't understand but you may find helpful if you want "optimized" applications. use at your own risk. glad to see someone interested.. http://lunatics.kwsn.net/

Shameless bump...I'll only do this a couple times. I just feel like we could get a pretty strong SETI team going on MFP.

Alright, any takers? I'd like a massive MFP team for seti!
