Week 1 - 1800 calories and lifting

Hello. I am seeking some kind of assurance I am doing the right thing.

I have seen heaps on here about increasing calories and weight lifting so I thought I'd try it. I have been lifting 3-4 days a week for about 20 mins and 2 or so HIIT cardio sessions a week.

My BMY is 1527 and my TDEE is 2359. I have been aiming for 1800 calories per day but have been starving and eating more like 1900-2000.

I have just finished week 1 and have put on about 1kg.

I have about 10kg to lose and I am feeling like it's never going to happen.

I have read the eat more to weight less post and a few others and am hoping I have this right. It should take a few eeks to get this right, right??? right????
