I personally treat weekdays and weekends the same with food and exercise. If I allow myself to slack one day, it will turn into two, into three, etc. I also mix up my routines enough that I really don't do rest days. A rest day for me may just be 20 minutes walking on the treadmill. Enough to get my heart rate up, without over exerting myself. I don't allow a weekend to sabotage all my hard work! Good luck on your journey!0

I had problems with weekends too until I realized that I needed to plan for them just like I do for the week. Pick up a watermellon late in the week. If you feel the urge to munch on something, go for the watermellon first. It will satisfy your craving. Since it is mostly water, you can eat a lot without many calories. 1 cup of watermellon is only about 50 calories.0

I always get more exercise on the weekends, so then get to eat more as well0

If you search the forums, you'll see a post just like yours nearly every single Monday. A lot of people are very strict with themselves during the week and allow the weekends to be their "free" time. I always treated everyday the same - I didn't do cheat meals or cheat days. I made sure I had a healthy, reasonable daily calorie goal and I made sure I allowed myself some treats that fit into that goal. I worked out (though I admit that I usually used my weekend as my "off" days) and made sure I didn't fall too far off track -- even when I had a birthday party or family outing.
You have to find what works for YOU. This isn't a diet, this is a lifestyle change. It takes time to figure out what is going to work best for YOU.0 -
Hey there,
I have 1 'splurge day' a week where I eat and drink whatever I want.
I stick pretty much all week to 1200 (more with exercise) and I find
that I can be more able to resist temptation the rest of the time.
I've been losing consistantly 1lb a week doing this.
I do however have my diary open to friends and log my monday 'splurge'
days and they can be pretty epic.
I know lots of people say no to cheat days but whatever works for you.
Also, make sure you get out and about doing some exercise as often as you can.
Don't beat yourself up and perhaps try and work your calorie deficit to cover your
whole week rather than daily?
Good luck
Nicola x
P.S. cute avitar btw0 -
Hi!
I try and cut down Calories by 200 calories a day (really easy when excercising!) that gives me an extra 1000 on the weekends to play with!! And if your going out dancing burns calories!! I dance the whole night away now!! Even though I'm a horrible dancer0 -
I try to get out the house and do physical activities ) it helps me a lot!0
